La Pampa Steakhouse — Local services in Gdansk

I highly recommend this restaurant. The Argentinean steaks are extremely high quality, cooked to perfection, according to your order. The fries and side salad were also excellent. Ordered the tenderloin steak. This was the best steak meal I have had anywhere for many many years, maybe the best ever in fact ! If you don't want steak and/or wish to spend more moderately there is a good choice of other menu items - e.g. the fish (cod) and chips and also the beef burger with cheese, bacon, fries, pickles etc were both superb quality and reasonable price. The draught beer was excellent too.

The complimentary mixed berries liquor was excellent, sweet, smooth - an unexpected and nice touch.

The owner ( Darrack ? Sorry if misspelt your name) who served us is a very nice guy, professional, friendly, great service.

The restaurant has an excellent atmosphere.

It's in the Old Town area of Gdansk, within easy walking distance of most of the hotels I believe. (It was only a ten minute walk at most from hotel Wolne Miasto where we were staying). It's well worth trying this place - if our experience is anything to go by it will probably be the best meal you will have in Gdansk.

This place is not recommended! Before I finished my starter the waiter came and took my partners plate that was finished. 2-3 minutes after she comes with our main dish, (I'm still eating my starter) she was standing 1 meter from our table looking at me Finnish my starter so she could give us main dish. I felt like I had to rush my food, I'm asking what the rush is, and she says: she was rushed by the kitchen.. I told her I wasn't satisfied about rushing my food? All she could say was that she was sorry I felt like that. She came twice asking if everything was okay. And we felt annoyed by her company. All we wanted was a nice steak with a free place to talk and use our evening but, instead we were rushed out of the place. It was all one big failure. I will never go there again and I wouldn't recommend it to people who wanna go enjoy their partner. The food was medium and I had really bad stomach after eating there. This happened 7 juli 2020 around 17 o'clock. I hope they will find a better...

Would have given 5 stars BUT…

Booked a table back in April for June using the online form on their website. I received an email back confirming my booking. Arrived tonight to discover our booking hadn’t been written in the diary. Showed them the email but we had to sit outside as they had nothing inside. We would have preferred to sit inside hence the reason we booked it in advance.

The food and service on the night was good but let down by the fact our booking was completely missed. Would advise anyone who has booked here to call the restaurant and confirm you are booked in even if you receive an email confirming it as writing it in the diary doesn’t seem to be a priority. Went in to use the facilities and seen a hen do in and large groups, maybe this suited them better? We were really looking forward to this restaurant but not good enough and I’d be reluctant to use their online booking system again. Very unfortunate....
