The hotel is in a great location, as you can see pretty much all in old town are. I didn’t pick this hotel, the tour company we are using thru Poland did. It’s pretty, nice historic wall at entrance, lobby nice. Check-in was easy, staff was nice. They have a bar and pool table off from lobby. We went up to the room, it’s fine, nicely decorated. No problems. At night I noticed people talking. But it wasn’t coming from another room, it was outside..probably someone checking in I thought…but they were out there taking quite a while. There was music, kids yelling, again, not from a room but seemed it was inside the lobby. The window was not open. Our room was right at the back of the hotel, overlooking the entrance. I let it go, and eventually fell asleep. |At breakfast, the host was nice. It was a little crowded, we sat at a table. They have option to order off menu…it was impossible to get staff to make eye contact, let alone come to table. It’s a buffet. All these girls were doing was clearing table after table. Finally I went back to the host and asked if I could put in order for compete thru him-he took the order, I got the omelet. The breakfast buffet has a lot of things to offer, kind of random, unusual even, different countries have different things they like for breakfast, they seem to try to have something for everyone, even smoothies in addition to juices. I just felt like having an omelet and toast, and it was decent. |Night number two. NOISE. Screaming, cheering. My sig. other believed it to be street noise tho we are on the backside. It was the bar inside the hotel. Their lovely glass roofing does nothing for soundproofing esp when you’re room is unfortunately right at edge of roof and front door. People were chatting away outside, I couldn’t figure why, maybe they were smoking I don’t know. I was at a loss for how a hotel operates this way, Surely they know this room gets a lot of noise. It should be turned into storage. |The next day our guide said there was a football match on tv-so that was probably the source of the screaming and cheering, but the music, kids, etc it’s all inside at the radisson bar -aside from whomever doing whatever outside the front door, even during the day it’s audible.|Other than the noise I’ve no real complaints, tho I’m not sure what makes this a 5-star. Considering that glass roofed lobby doesn’t contain the noise, (and lobby door every time it opens, the enclosed drop off area is an echo chamber) not sure if other rooms toward the front get less of it or not, but myself, I’d go elsewhere next visit. I’m not taking the chance.|And I don’t need radisson staff commenting back saying they’re sorry I feel this way, blah blah blah. There’s no way they don’t know, they don’t care because people will always come right, so no one...
Read moreStaff of this facility need a decent training. Upon arrival, the receptionist stated that there were no more parking spaces available in the underground garage, as the parking space had not been reserved by us. On Booking.com, it is clearly stated that no booking is required. We got a place outside, at the same price as the underground car park.
There was no hot water in the bathroom in our room. The receptionist suggested using a bathroom in another room (???) or changing the room. We decided for the second option. After packing up, we got the key to another room, which turned out to be much smaller and additionally “featuring” an unpleasant smell of cigarettes. I reported it to the reception, but the receptionist said that it is "not true that it is a lower standard room". Aside from the fact that staff should never use the word "not true" in a conversation with a guest, the front desk stated that there were no more rooms available. I checked the possibility of booking in the online system and it turned out that it is possible to book at least 9 rooms in our standard. I informed the receptionist about this, but he said that "there are no these rooms and if they were booked, he would be forced to accommodate guests in higher standard rooms" and that "he will not go into details, but he is forced to give us a room of a higher standard ". First of all, the lack of hot water in the room and the accommodation of guests in a room of a lower standard than the one they paid for, should not happen in any facility and does not constitute going into any details but is a BASIC matter in this industry. The detail could be that the omelette for breakfast was fried in rapeseed or coconut oil, but not the aspects mentioned above. The third room we were given was of a higher standard, hot water was not a problem, but the fact that we were treated as some demanding customers created an unpleasant situation and disgust.
Update: we were invited for a stay over a weekend and had a great time, staff was more attentive and informed. Although there were a few “bumps on the road” they definitely did make up for the bad experience we had previously. Therefore now changing the rating to 4*. Thank you...
Read moreThis was not an acceptable hotel for charging more than 300$ per night, First of all, the service were terrible, or actually there was no service at all. 80% of visable staff were ”trainees”. The leadership is probably extremely poor since no one seem to know how to treat guests. At checkin a waited 10 minutes. Once its my turn the staff pickup up the phone in front of me and started a 5 min long phone call without even look at me. The rooms AC was broken, the first night we couldnt sleep due to 28 degrees and zero air in the room. The morning after we told them to fix it. No apologize or anything. I followed up and asked them 4 times same day since it was not fixed. They said ”we dont know but we think the Technician is working on”. I said a demand a new room, but then they fixed it. First impression at the breakfast - ”I can dee that your breakfast is not included”. Breakfast was included. He made a phonecall and had us waiting. Then he said, its okay, you can go in. No apologize for the misstake, no Welcome, no good morning. The breakfast was ok. The scramble eggs looked like a egg-cake. But it was nice that al carte eggs was offered even though it took long time. Im a Radisson Premium member and stay at many radisson. I have never experience such poor service level. When I checked out, not a single question about our stay, no good bye or welcome back, just everything is payed youre good to go. The staff just dont care. I will never go back to this hotel, and I would want some of the money back but I will instead just forget the place and pretend I droped my money in the ocean.
Oh I almost forgot. My friend went to the reception when I was away. He asked for a key to my room and just said the room number. The staff made a new key and gave it to him. They DID NOT EVEN ask for a name or Id, just gave out the key. In the room were my passport, wallet and Rolex watch....
