If you are looking for a great place to indulge yourself in a fabulous food, don’t look any further! You can’t go wrong with any dish in the restaurant.
The place was recommended to me by my friends as the must-try seafood in Krakow. I live in Melbourne which has a variety of fantastic international restaurants and I’m a seafood lover, so I didn’t expect better seafood in Poland, which is located far from the ocean, but I was curious to try it.
I was so pleasantly surprised by the quality and taste of the seafood. It was just perfect! The chef is a magician in his kitchen, which encouraged us to use the opportunity and try more of his mouth-watering dishes that evening – octopus, patatas bravas, tuna, paella, beef, duck, entrecote steak, lamb, crema catalana and of course superb wines. We simply couldn’t resist :-)
The staff were exceptional, providing great service. They were friendly and welcoming, making us feel right at home. Also, we had a very nice chat with the owners. Super friendly people who care about their customers. I highly recommend Alejo’s Tapas, grill & wine!

Read moreAwful service and disappointing food. The two female waitresses seemed more interested in answering phone reservations than attending to guests in the restaurant. Their attitude was indifferent, almost hostile, as they slammed plates and glasses onto our table without a trace of courtesy. Their lack of knowledge about the menu and basic wine etiquette was glaring - they poured the sediment from the wine bottle straight into my glass, a mistake no waiter should make! The food was equally dismal. Pintxos, which should be vibrant and flavorful, were a complete letdown. The patatas bravas were poorly executed, gildas were served on a warm, wilted salad-like mess, and the sardine pintxo was a bland, uninspired piece of bread. While I don’t expect Basque Country-level pintxos, even Barcelona’s simpler offerings show care in presentation and flavor - something this establishment completely lacks. For Polish people unfamiliar with tapas/pintxos culture, this place gives them a false impression of how exciting and delicious tapas and pintxos can truly be when prepared with skill and passion. Save your money and avoid this overpriced, mediocre restaurant with rude staff who make you feel like...
