This is in a charming location close to the river, on a little street that gets the afternoon sun. The outside of the cafe is pleasant and enticing, with colourful benches and cushions. However, the service and drinks were distinctly lacking.
My friend and I ordered an Aperol spritz each. The woman serving looked confused and I had to point to it on the menu, where it is very clearly printed. It took a very long time to arrive and when it did it was just two wine glasses half filled with Aperol, nothing else. I went back to ask and the staff first insisted this was an Aperol spritz, then told me they didn’t do them. Again I pointed to the menu. They went and conferred in the back and said they would bring new drinks out. When they did, they had just added the smallest splash of mostly flat Prosecco, no ice and no orange slice or soda.
The drink was warm and absolutely not what any reasonable person would take to be an Aperol spritz! The experience was funny and we were able to laugh about the general incompetence, but really this isn’t great if you’re attempting to run a cafe and...
Read moreThe ambiance is ok and the server was really kind but wow they were incredibly slow to make toast. My order was listed as toast with sausage and salad for something like 28PLN. I couldn’t imagine what was taking so long for such a simple order, well anyways that wasn’t the worst part. The toast came out on industrial grade bread and was actually a tiny panini. The sausages were not entire breakfast sausages but were thin slices of salami in such a meager amount inside the panini. The cheese was rubbery. I expected the size to be the standard of a cafe or restaurant but it’s the same stuff I make at home for a snack except this was like industrial toast, thin like paper. Dipping sauce tasted like mayo, ketchup and vinegar together. It was really not worth the price and very unpleasant. I’m sorry but I hope management does something to improve the menu and maybe the system because it’s not nice to wait long for...
Read moreI love small coffee shops, but this one.. well, not so much. I ordered Earl grey tea, a chocolate tart with fresh strawberries, one scoop vanilla ice cream and one iced tea with strawberry flavour.
Earl grey was made with so much tea leaves, that you could make 5 teas. So it was bitter as hell. Iced tea, tasted nothing. Ice cream was as small as it could be, and tasted well, like frozen milk. Just frozen milk, nothing more. The tart crust was very well made, crunchy and just right baked, the filling was just ok, if you would blend the ganache longer (emulsify it longer). Then it would be much better.
The staff wasn't very helpful, and kind off upsett when they did bring our cake to the table (they gave me a wrong one), and I told the lady that I showed the other lady with my finger that I wanted the other one.. next time when she gave me the right one, she was in like "I...
