Bread & Butter Breakfast & Brunch Kraków — Restaurant in Krakow

This is a place that seems to benefit largely from being highly rated on Google etc. and so therefore people flock to it and praise it like it's some sort of miraculous brunch cafe full of flavours not found anywhere else.

It isn't. It's just a brunch cafe. I've been to some impressive ones in other locations, and this was just "OK". 4/5 would be pretty accurate.

I had avocado on sourdough toast with two poached eggs, and it was nice, but I could have gotten it at just about anywhere that serves brunch. I checked out many of the other menu items as they passed me by, and they just looked like you'd receive most other places too. Pancakes, shakshuka etc.

On top of that, there's sometimes a queue and a reasonable wait to get in, and the decor inside is just plain white and pretty boring, with no outdoor seating. You don't get your order taken at the table by anyone so there's no real personalised service, you have to order by QR or walk up to the kitchen area.

If this place did something with ambience, and actually created some interesting and unique dishes, it might be onto something, but if you're going here just because it's a high review score, don't expect anything mindblowing, just a...

I was disappointed with the service here. My husband and I were planning to have breakfast, and I arrived first. While waiting for him, I took out my laptop to make a quick, 10-15 minute work call. A staff member immediately approached me and firmly stated that laptops were not allowed. I explained that I only needed a few minutes for an important call, which would have been much quicker than the time it would take to prepare our food. However, the person was completely inflexible and insisted on the policy. There were no signs or warnings about this rule anywhere in the cafe. Due to this lack of flexibility and poor customer service, I decided to leave and meet my husband at a different cafe nearby. We had a great breakfast there, and our bill was ~140 PLN. This place is great for brunch in the center of Kraków! The place is strategically well located in the city center but not surrounded by all the tourists traps. The service was very friendly, the waiter came to welcome us and checked how was the food. The ordering process was also straight forward you can check the menu on a QR code, order and pay online. All on the same website. For the food, we didn’t wait much and it was delicious, we ordered the Pancakes with fruit jam and mascarpone, scrambled eggs on butter with extra guacamole and shakshuka.
