Del Jero — Restaurant in Krakow

Edible, but not good. We arrived at 12:10pm on a weekday and waited until 12:30 to get our food. We were the only customers in line.

The food hall is cool, but the food itself was mediocre at best. The tacos al pastor were nothing like the real thing. The meat was chewy and tasted reheated. Chopped onions, cilantro, and pineapple were added on top, but it was obvious that the meat and pineapple were not cooked together. The meat was not correctly seasoned.

My husband got a burrito that was shaped like a burrito, but had turmeric-colored rice, bland red onion (not actually pickled), pureed beans, and spicy salsa on globbed in one spot on the top of the burrito--not spread throughout. His chicken was flavorless.

Nothing outside of the shape resembled Mexican cuisine, and the price charged for this mediocre meal is criminal. Overpriced...

The food was really delicious and in a good price. The cook is a really friendly Polish and Mexican, so he knows how to prepare his national cuisine. Also brownies were one of the best I ever ate in the three continents. The place is not really suitable to eat there with someone but if you are alone there are 2 seats and a possibility to speak with a really friendly and smart owner. I am actually sad that I won't be able to visit that place and speak more with a person working there because he is a good bloke. I will surely visit this place if I will ever visit this city again. I’ve eaten here a handful of times now and the food is always great! Very authentic and delicious, and the casual environment almost makes it feel like you’re in Mexico.

The only reason I’m not giving 5 stars is because of the inconsistent opening hours… I’ve walked down especially to eat here on 3 occasions only to find a sign saying they are opening ~2 hours late. It’s always pretty disappointing and not sure what the reason is…

Anyway I’ll keep coming back, but maybe not early in the afternoons…
