I was looking to try the coffee here for a while. Can't say that the wait was not worth it. The espresso was deep in flavours, acidic and sweet while retaining lots of cocoa qualities. Not exactly my taste but objectively a good espresso nonetheless. If you are looking for a good place to have coffee, kawa is a good choice. There's also a large selection of beans to buy.
I have to give one star less for a few reasons.
The service could have been more welcoming. I would have liked a larger choice of teas, but it nay be just me. After all the place is called kawa (coffee in Polish), not tea... What I found more deluding were the prices. Surely higher than I expected. I do appreciate that the owner take great care in the selection of beans and I am sure this is done to also help giving a living wage to the coffee producers, something that rarely happens in larger cafes. Yet the coffee here doesn't seem to justify the increased price. It is rather too much for what you get. There are places within Krakow that have qualitatively similar coffee for a chunk of money less. I know that tastes are subjective, yet it would feel an unjust advice to recommend the coffee here over cheaper places in the same city.
I can see myself returning but only rarely. The price of coffee like at kawa, in a city like Krakow, is not sustainable for...
Read moreConvenient because it was right next to the Airbnb I was staying. The coffee is okay, but nothing special. Which brings me to the price, which is simply too high for Kraków/PL outside of center.. This very moment I bought a oat-milk cappuccino for $4,50 at the San Francisco airport - so pretty much same price.. tastes great and I’m pretty sure their operating cost is higher than here.. The customer service & experience could also be friendlier. Some people working there kind of an attitude.. :/ I had several occasions where I had regular milk instead of the ordered oat milk.. if you can’t remember or someone else is doing the coffee as I sometimes observed, maybe mark it on the cup? There is a reason why other stores practice this ;) While I bought coffee pretty much every day because they open early (so that’s good!), I ordered breakfast only once.. not sure who is supposed to be full and satisfied after this (picture)? 39 PLN for two eggs, two slices of bread and a bit of cheese and different butter? I mean that is the price of a full meal in PL :) I don’t mind paying but it has to be adequate to what you get. Unfortunately can’t really recommend - across the street you get for half the price a fully satisfying breakfast with 4 eggs, freshly baked bread from their own bakery and it...
Read moreWell, let me leave my feedback here about this place. I’ve been visiting this coffee shop since it opened, and for me it was really one of the best coffees in Krakow (at least 100% around Zabłocie). I always recommended it to my friends, and they agreed with me that it’s a perfect place to enjoy good coffee. Unfortunately, over the last year I’ve noticed a negative trend. They started using very specific coffee beans, and it’s become a lottery to get a tasty cup here, even though the beans are “extra expensive and cool.” Last time I even felt not so good after a regular przelew. The sweets became weird quite a while ago, but coffee was the only reason I kept coming back again and again. I’m giving 3* only out of respect for the old times. Regarding the staff, I noticed the same thing: they’re not the same as before, and the service level has dropped. P.S.please dont use specialty beans in...
