Unfortunately, my experience at this restaurant was quite disappointing. I visited with a group of friends and, when placing my order, I asked the waitress if they had Cola Zero and she confirmed that they did. However, when she brought the drinks to the table, I immediately noticed that it was not Coca Cola Zero, but a cola from the brand "On-Lemon." I politely asked if they had Cola Zero as originally mentioned, and she explained that they only served that specific brand. I then asked to change my drink for water instead, and she agreed without issue.
What followed, however, was completely unacceptable. A few minutes later, another waiter (Jakob) approached our table in a very rude and arrogant tone, demanding to know who had ordered the Cola Zero. I said it was me, and he insisted that what I had been served was indeed a cola zero and that I had to taste it, since I had ordered it. I calmly explained that I was not interested in trying the drink and that, if necessary, I was willing to pay for it.
Despite my repeated refusals, the waiter kept insisting that I should try the drink and even suggested someone else at my table could try it. The entire situation became very uncomfortable and completely unnecessary. In the end, I was charged for a drink I didn’t consume, which was served based on incorrect information initially given by the staff.
I do not recommend this place. The staff’s approach to customer service was aggressive and pushy, turning what should have been a pleasant evening into a stressful experience for everyone at the table. I will not be...
Read moreI go to this restaurant quite often because it’s very close to where I live, and overall, the food is good. It’s a convenient spot when I’m craving something Hispanic, and that’s why I keep coming back.
That said, there are a few points I’d like to mention as constructive feedback. On several occasions, the rice has been slightly burnt, or the chicken in the burritos has had chunks of fat or cartilage that make it hard to eat — I’ve had to take it out of my mouth more than once. It doesn’t happen every time, but it does happen more often than it should, and I believe some extra attention to food prep would go a long way.
Another point is the atmosphere. The restaurant presents itself as Mexican, but often plays reggaeton with sexually explicit lyrics at high volume. While some may see this as part of a general “Latin vibe,” reggaeton doesn’t represent Mexican culture — or the rich musical diversity of Hispanic America. There are many wonderful styles of Hispanic music that would create an authentic and welcoming vibe. But listening to a Puerto Rican artist graphically describe their sex life while I’m trying to enjoy a meal — especially in a place where people come with friends or family — just feels out of place.
That kind of music might work in a nightclub, but not in a restaurant that aims to offer a culturally coherent Mexican experience.
I say all this respectfully and with good intentions. The restaurant has a lot of potential, and I’d love to see it take these things into account, because I genuinely enjoy...
Read moreThis is the only Mexican restaurant I know in Krakow, and it is near my place. I tried it as it is newly opened last week. To be honest, they did not disappoint me. It reminds me of the Mexican food taste in Philippines so, it was really good for me.
I recommend the nachos. They generously put toppings on it. The beans! I need to mention the beans! The beans on the nachos were awesome! I really like it. Perhaps if it is something will help... I found the nachos quite thick. My personal preference of nachos are thin and fragile in one bite. If this can be considered to on the nachos recipe hehe! I'll be back soon here to try it. Then again, the nachos are great! Order it! Order it! 🙂
For the tacos, I had grilled beef with chipotle sauce. The chipotle sauce is good. The heat and kick of it is on the spot! Plus points for me that, this is actually a soft taco they just shaped it like a hard taco shells which really gave me a good sigh when I found they were soft tacos. Flavour wise it was good, but perhaps the beef was quite tough for me. I think I will try the pulled pork next time as it is a slow roasted one and I'll expect it will be soft and might melt in my mouth when eaten.
Overall this is a very nice and welcoming place. The service is good. The servers are comfortable conversing in English. Really plus points for me as an expat here in Krakow. I will recommend this place to my fellow Latin friends...
