BackRoom Bar — Restaurant in Warsaw

Great location and was fun finding it. We sat by the bar. I am not a newbie to speakeasies and have bartended myself in the past. The staff was friendly BUT… the female bartender was so talkative (especially to my partner) and kept suggesting various spirits, pouring tasters in front of us ‘on the house’ (and after trying 10 ml of Wasabi vodka, my partner bought a standard amount.) ‘Suggestions’ were very PUSHED on us constantly. When my partner asked what that bartender could make with chartreuse (most of her other cocktails were average with no sweet/sour balance), she kept almost demanding to add various items to one cocktail. When the bill came - we realised my partner was charged nearly 100 Zloty for the drink she ‘created’. He was even charged for the 2 ml of ‘sour cordial’. This has never happened in any speak easy bar around the world… I am sorry but if you going to charge x 4 times the standard amount - you must warn customers - unless it is a tourist trap. By the way, I asked how much my gin martini would be with her suggested gin and she said 41 Zloty…. But charged 62 Zloty. We were going to tip them but after the bill, I don’t want to come back and want to warn others. Maybe she expected my partner (Australian) to pay without a fuss… Either way - bad form! Just because we spoke English and came to this bar - do not trick us. This was meant to be a safe place to relax and getaway from reality. But what we got in the end was ‘Let’s rip off foreigners’. All the welcome was fake. Out to get you for the money. I complained about this in the end and was told ‘Well it is too late, I made the tasters and you drank it… here is a free shot of Jack Daniel’s (we refused). REALLY unpleasant...

I booked the table at BackRoom Bar some 3 weeks ago and specifically asked for one in the room at the back, not the one with the bar & music as I wanted to be able to have a conversation. The reservation was confirmed without any comments. When I arrived yesterday evening I was asked to sit at the table just next to the singer (1m away or even less) therefore I asked if they have a different one. Despite at least 2 tables available in the back room I was told the only alternative is the table in the corridor by the toilet! As all other tables are booked and the guests will be arriving in ca 30 minutes - which was not true - one was free for 2 hours, the second for at least 1 hour. I was inclined to leave, but since I invited someone, we decided to take the table by the toilet. Later on the girl serving the drinks explained that they do not book particular tables - a pity this was not made clear when I did the booking. Yes, the drinks were good - each of us had 2 different, but overall the experience was bad. The door to the place were non- stop open, as the place was busy, and it became so cold at our table that I had to put my jacket on. When we were leaving it took the guy 10-15 minutes to find my friends’ jacket… very...

I had the pleasure of visiting an amazing drink bar recently, and I have to say that it was truly an outstanding experience. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with a warm and inviting atmosphere, and the drinks were absolutely fantastic.

But what really stood out to me were the two bartenders, Dominika and Maciek. These two were truly the stars of the night, and they made my visit one to remember.

Not only were they incredibly skilled at mixing drinks, but they were also extremely friendly and personable. They took the time to talk to me and get to know me, and they even made recommendations based on my preferences.

What I loved about Dominika and Maciek was their attention to detail. They took the time to craft each drink with care, making sure that every ingredient was just right. And the end result was nothing short of perfection.

Overall, I would highly recommend this drink bar to anyone looking for a great night out. The atmosphere was wonderful, the drinks were amazing, and Dominika and Maciek truly made the experience unforgettable.
