We came here based off the glowing reviews (and knowing that it wasn't luxury) but it was such a massive let down.
We entered the restaurant and were met by a disinterested server, who told us to wait for a table. We sat at the bar to wait and were told quite rudely that we are not allowed to sit there, so we stood up.
We were brought upstairs to a table and given no menus or explanation as to how to order (you order and pay at the till, like Nandos etc). I went downstairs to order and tried to take a photo of the giant menu on the wall to send to my boyfriend upstairs, the woman taking orders behind the till stopped what she was doing and shouted at me that i was not allowed to take photos of the menu.
I eventually ordered from her and returned to the table to wait. I understand I'm in a different country and am not ignorant enough to expect them to speak English, however for a restaurant so high on TripAdvisor (which they proudly display on the window), you'd think that after calling out the order number in Polish a few times and getting no reply, they would try English?
When the burger eventually arrived it was very nice, but unfortunately the incredibly rude staff would make me never want to...
Read moreHaving read the reviews here, I was wary of the service before we even arrived. In truth, being given a 1 metre squared space to stand in with a pushchair and two adults whilst we waited for our table was a little odd! Things became a little less ideal when we were told that the restaurant does not have a baby seat.
So, baby in lap, we waited to order our food. And we waited. And we waited. Finally a member of staff came to our table to inform us that we had to go the bar to order. So, wait to be seated like you have arrived at The Ritz, order your food at the bar like you are in a KFC!
Oh well, not a perfect start, but the food was going to make up for it, wasn't it?
Cold chips, tasteless Guacamole and an under-seasoned burger were NOT what we ordered or expected, but they were what we received. At near on 30zl per burger, this is simply shameful. It felt as though somebody in the kitchen was off for the day. Maybe they were.
All in all, a disappointing experience and one which we are not likely to repeat. The whole place feels like there are two owners and they are constantly fighting over what the identity of the place should be. Somewhere in the middle of nowhere is how it...
Read moreLet's start with the bottom line - we were very, very disappointed with the place. The hype did not prove itself at all, quite the opposite. First of all, it's a small place. We had to and chose to wait until a table for three became available, because the option of a bar table facing the wall was really not attractive. When a small table became available, we asked to sit and squeeze in (our choice) but were very rudely refused. Finally, a table opened up and we got in.
The whole experience was poor. Starting with the hostess who behaved rudely and even did something as small as taking one of our chairs when we went to order from the counter. It took them a full 45 minutes to prepare the dishes, during which time people who came in after us received their orders. When I went to check, they didn't really respond nicely.
In the end, the biggest problem was that the food was simply not tasty. The hamburger bun was dry, not fresh. The hamburger itself was not juicy and very dry. The food was of poor quality. We left really disappointed and we really hope the place will learn and improve. Until then, not...
