My second time here. It was quite empty, which i hope was due to locals escaping the city for the holiday, as i dont see how this place should not be booked full on a Saturday night based on any objective quality parameters. They have quite a good and large wine list, however maybe a little too burgundycentric for my personal taste. A couple of the entries which would have been great buys and my preferred choices for the menu were sold out and not updated, but the sommelier was knowledgeable and pleasant and we ended up with a 1er cru pommard on his recommendation which stood up to the meat part of the meal in a great way. They have a very good selection by the glass, including high level entries. They use coravin, and he gladly offered half-pours, a service I aplaude! We had some excellent irish oysters to start with 19/20, before some equally excellent amouse bouches which were modern interpretations on classic polish beet and salmon dishes 18/20. Tuna with seaweed were perfectly prepared and a pleasant surprise 17/20. The scallops were also perfectly prepared, but the curry was a little bit grainy and somewhat monotone 13/20. Seabream with fennel were prepared well and delivered as the last sea oriented dish 15/20. Chanterelles with egg yolk and green onion was texturally a little uneven but came together well 16/20. The wagyu with oyster mushroom(11/20) were a disappointment though, albeit the only one of the night. it was cooked perfectly but lacked a bit of salt, the biggest problem with the dish though was its place in the meal, it seemed like a throw in after getting the meat, maybe a5 wagyu attracts and appeals to certain customers just by being on the menu, me not being one of them, and imo it should have been passed, going directly to the well made lamb finishing of the savoury part of the menu (17/20). I find it strange though that its not possible to get a hold of polish lamb meat of adequate quality, this being said the english meat served was cooked to perfection with a great herbal crust. The dessert was a rhubarb/strawberry cottage cheese composition which i found lacked sweetness but nevertheless pleasing 12/20. All in all an excellent serving 16/20, and a place i could recommend to anyone...
Read moreThis is hands down one of the most impressive dining experiences I’ve seen in Warsaw. Get ready for me to sing their praises. To start off, the interior of the restaurant is beautiful - a great mix of elegance that still feels welcoming and warm. The seating feels private and allows for good conversation. We were greeted upon arrival and our coats put away, which I always appreciate. As we sat down, the staff immediately noticed that I am 8 months pregnant and offered a wonderful non alcoholic sparkling wine to start our dinner with (honestly the best non alcoholic wine I’ve ever had, it’s like a sparkling tea). They served our drinks privately in front of us, decanted and chilled as per our liking. This was already an impressive demonstration. The service overall was very attentive and polite, the staff asked whether we had any allergies and proactively offered to cook my scallops a bit more for food safety in pregnancy reasons. All our dishes were served in parallel by two waiters which is rare to see in Warsaw but shows true value for etiquette. The food was basically to die for - the scallops made me question whether I’m eating a buttery cloud or actual food. Also worth to note that the bread&butter, as well as the amuse-bouche, were a very pleasant surprise. Absolutely delicious. I felt very taken care of while dining - my water glass was never empty, my food was excellent and the staff made sure to show they really care and are really there to help. Overall a great experience, will definitely be back, and highly recommend for a romantic date night or girls night with a...
Read moreThe servers are incredibly professional, knowledgeable and attentive. My wife is 7 months pregnant and unprompted, the gentleman serving us was able to recommend a great non-alcoholic wine for her as well as ensure her scallops were cooked a bit more well-done for her safety. Also, I'm not necessarily a big wine person but he was able to recommend a fantastic glass of wine for each dish I ordered. This just goes to show you the fantastic level of service you'll encounter here.
The food is amazing. I don't know what to tell you. You just have to experience it. It's surprising, exciting and yet comforting. It's like an interpretation of Polish Cuisine via the lens of New Nordic Cuisine. For example, the amuse-bouche was a beet puree that kicks you with a first bite filled with explosive beet flavor but on the second bite it mellows and you taste the creaminess and the more subtle flavors behind that initial taste. It only got better from there. You can see the photos I took but it would be a waste of time to try to make any recommendations. I really don't think you can go wrong with anything you order here. Just order whatever sounds interesting!
It's pricey but you have to understand that you are going to have what I can only describe as a perfect...
