My friend brought me here as it was very highly rated on trip advisor. The restaurant itself is very nice. Personally I think it may be more suitable for couples.
The food is very good. It didn't blow me away but was beautifully presented and tasted good.
The steak tartare came in a glass cloche filled with smoke which was certainly a spectacle. It tasted beautifully smokey.
The boeuf stroganoff was entirely average and the bread that came with it was toasted so much that it was almost inedible. Like eating dried pasta.
The duck breast was beautifully cooked and was perfectly complimented by the bed of sweet potatoe purée and the wine soaked pear. It was a shame the knife provided struggled to cut through the meat. It would have been better if they had provided a steak knife with which to eat this.
The Tuna steak was the best dish I tried and the one I would recommend if you are going. It was beautifully complimented with both the chanterelle mushrooms and the pea and mint purée.
Unfortunately the place was let down by the service. The waiters seemed entirely uninterested in us as customers.
Another disappointment were the cocktails.
Ultimately some pretty good food with poor service and terrible drinks. Whist it's not terribly expensive it is comparatively expensive for similar restaurants in the city. I'd probably go somewhere else. But if you do go -...
Read moreWeird and confused on both decor and food! I didn't like this place at all; the decor is confused: there is the elegant part and casual part, but it doesn't really come together. The tree in the middle doesn't fit the space, it's so weird. Drinks OK, but the food is a disaster. The ravioli dish was OK, but the duck, despite its intricacy and a fine-dining look, fell completely flat on the flavor profile: the duck was so under-seasoned I was shocked. There wasn't an inch of salt in there! Also, the skin wasn't seared enough, so it tasted of fat; it really wasn't a good dish despite their attempt to sweeten it with the watery jam. The pear was just baked, no seasoning; the one good thing was the sweet potato puree with cinnamon but it didn't make up for the duck and the fact it all didn't come together as a dish. Never...
Read moreBook beforehand, they are unlikely to have availability if you haven't booked.
We had two issues whilst dining. They did not have a chilled bottle of the white wine that we ordered. Attempts were made to chill the wine for us but these were not successful. There was some issue with the ordering/cooking of our main course which resulted in a wait of around 45min before it was served.
Despite the above the food was excellent. Every dish was delicious. The staff were friendly and polite. They didn't charge for our desserts because of the problems we'd had, which was a nice touch.
I'd have given five stars if we didn't have the issues described above. I'd definitely return to eat there given the quality...
