Lokal Vegan Bistro — Restaurant in Warsaw

Delayed Service: When we ordered, no other customers were waiting for food, yet we had to wait for more than 30 minutes while they brought out our food after serving two tables who came after us. Our dishes also did not come out at the same time: one already was finished until the other person got their food.

Food quality: The seitan was ok, even if rather dry, while the carbonara was disappointing: the individual flavours did not stand out and the yogurt based sauce didnt feel fresh. The side "grilled" tomatoes were fridge cold and did not show the outer consistency usually present when grilled.

Atmosphere: very strange self service for ordering at the counter without menu easily visible like other places with this format. You're supposed to put your dishes away but there were too many elements on the table (baskets for silverware glasses etc), no tray (or at least non was given to us) with no clear designated spot to efficiently bring all these things.

Pricing: the dishes cost pretty high for the services which are like a fast food place (even if food...

Yummy yummy in the tummy! Today while wandering through Warsaw we stumbled across Lokal and decided to stop in for some lunch. It was a late lunch at 16:00 yet it was very busy which was a good sign. To start we ordered the Veggie Tartar and were amazed at how tasty it was, it looked like and had the texture of beef tartar and had a wonderful flavor. I ordered Seitan Kababs with roasted potatoes and a Thai cucumber salad, this was my first experience with seitan and I found it to have a nice texture and lots of flavor. My Wife ordered the Jack Fruit Chilli which was accompanied by rice, guacamole and a nice side salad, the chili was amazing! Our experience at Lokal was fantastic, the place is clean and has plenty of tables, the service was great and the guy at the counter was helpful, the food was very well plated with wonderful flavors and textures. You are meant to order at the counter and bring your dishes back at the end of the meal. I'm happy to do one or the other, but not both at a restaurant.

Kitchen is slow on a Saturday night, lots of uber eats orders are coming in, so understandable, but no communication about the wait time. Fries come out after main meals, would be nicer to come out before.

Nothing screamed out "polish cuisine". Carbonara is not polish, many countries have a cutlet/schnitzel option and do it even better than this place. Steak is also not specifically polish. A lot of options were already sold out at 7:30pm, which again is understandable for a Saturday night, but maybe they can prepare more options for the weekends? Food looked nothing like the pictures you see here, so consitancy is not great either.
