Honestly, I really regret having chosen this place for my birthday dinner :( I’d been to Primitivo once before and loved it then, plus the 4.9 rating seemed like I was not alone in thinking that - so I was sure it would be a good choice for a family celebration.
However, this time my experience was very different :( first, we came and saw they had a terrace, asked the hostess if we could move there. My family was already at the table and I just waited in the hallway for a good 5-10 minutes while she went to ask. She was not in any kind of rush, talked to some other people in the process, then came up to a waiter who was outside, talked to them for a bit and headed back. I had already walked outside since I thought she might have forgotten about me, and I think she would have passed by if I didn’t ask. Her reply was “well there are no tables we can move together right now” and seemed like she wanted to offer something (like perhaps we can move you outside later or something) but chose not to, and walked away.
So we sat at our table inside and noone came up to us for a very long time. We didn’t even have the menus. The restaurant was full and seemed like the waiters were overloaded. Plus, there was some big party at a table next to ours - so our waiter was mainly busy with them. He then finally came up to us and kind of explained that he didn’t understand if we were moving outside or not, and that’s why wasn’t in a rush to take on our table.
Next thing I’ll comment on is the food. From my previous experience, I’d remembered everything tasted delicious. So I might have had high expectations this time and expected to treat my family to a nice steak dinner. Of the steaks, there were only 2 options - beef Wellington (which they should call what it is on the menu and not “beef sirloin” with a note that it’s coming in “puff pastry”) and a rib-eye, a big chunk of fatty meat. We ordered both to try and neither tasted good to me :( i ordered the soup for my kid (having previously confirmed with the waiter if it would be okay for a child) and he refused to eat it after trying the first spoon. I tried myself, too, and it indeed wasn’t good. We then ordered Bolognese, his go-to favorite in most restaurants and he didn’t like that either :( to be fair, I’ll say the puree was very good and most desserts too - the cheesecake and the chocolate mousse with figs. I ordered tiramisu myself and honestly didn’t enjoy that either. It wasn’t bad but compared to what it usually tastes like, a little bland. Plus it was quite warm for some reason, maybe because of the pistachio cream they put on top - which was of weird puffy texture, like it was overly-blended or something :(
Finally, I’d like to express some disappointment in the fact that the waiter didn’t even say “happy birthday” although it was clear that it was. He took a picture of us with flowers and bday caps so there was no doubt about that :) that was right before we were served desserts so there definitely was a good moment for any kind of gesture - a piece of cake on the house, or a candle in my dessert, or at least served with a “happy birthday” (I understand policies differ and he might have not been authorized to give away free desserts).
Bottom line, it seemed like everybody just chose not to go any extra mile like they could have. I understand they didn’t have to - but from a good restaurant, you kind of expect a bit more than just food. Definitely don’t want to come back...
Read moreDuring our trip to Warsaw, we had one of the most memorable dining experiences thanks to Wojtek, our incredible waiter. From the moment we walked in, he greeted us with genuine warmth and made us feel completely at home, as if we were longtime friends rather than first-time guests.
What truly stood out was Wojtek’s ability to read the table perfectly—he offered recommendations that were not only spot-on but felt tailored to our tastes. Every dish he suggested turned out to be a highlight of the evening, from the starters to the desserts. You could tell he knew the menu inside out, but more importantly, he cared about giving us the best possible experience.
Beyond the food, it was his presence that elevated the night. He balanced professionalism with an easygoing charm, making us feel comfortable, cared for, and honestly a little spoiled. Thanks to him, the dinner wasn’t just a meal—it felt like an experience we’ll remember for years.
If you’re visiting Warsaw, I can’t recommend this place enough - but above all, ask for Wojtek. He’s the kind of server who turns a good night out into something truly...
Read moreFood 9/10 - Simple, fresh, and quality. Missing a point because the desserts are slightly weak in terms of both taste and selection. Service 9/10 - Very attentive and friendly. However, sometimes feels a little excessive and insincere. Atmosphere 10/10 - The inside is very atmospheric, spacious, but it is a bit dark. Perfect for evenings, and when it’s cold. During the daytime in summer, definitely better to sit outside.
Menu highlights: Beef Tartare, Seafood Pasta, Primitivo Pinsa, Truffle Risotto. Bonus: Kids Menu.
Review based on several visits, so I can vouch for quality consistency. Very good menu with something for everyone. If you order from any of my suggested menu items, you won’t be disappointed. For a restaurant that doesn’t specialize in coffee, very good coffee. Not a sommelier, but they have a very big wine selection, something for everyone.
Ideal for family gatherings, dates, birthdays, and weekly outings. Also, in my opinion a very good place in terms of price:quality ratio.
A new go-to...
