We have had terrible experience. We joined museum with baby buggy and had real trouble get in there and also move through the museum. On beginning we found and entrance for disabled people and easy accessible entrance. After ringing a bell and minutes of waiting, someone from stuff opened a door but we way inside was through room filled with boxes so I had to free the way on myself, lady from stuff was just looking at me as I was alone trying to make way for us. I am curious what a disable person would have to do. Moving through museum was possible with an elevator but on those levels where lot of rooms and parts with stairs in between. So alone due to our experience with terrible access for disabled people and children's buggys I would give only 1 star. But also whole concept of museum was not our first preference. Even we speak English,it was too chaotic and we have had problems find some kind of concept. We didn't learned a lot about Frédéric Chopin, even about his biography nor about pieces he has created. After we frustrated left the museum after 2 hours we have had to google most the information we was interested in. Simply lot of basic information missing. The style how the museum was trying to be modern just didn't hit our taste of art or how should museum be organised. And what we really missed would be much bigger offer of places where you can hear and enjoy his piece of art - music. Maybe it was due to covid, so one exposition where you could theoretically do that, was missing headphones. And on places where you can enjoy the music, quality of sound was...
Read moreOne of the most famous museums in Warsaw is surely the Chopin 's museum that's a few hundred meters away from the old town' s main street towards the river. I visited it in the end of June as the touristic season was just gearing up and I didn't have to pre-book my tickets. Besides, with an ISIC card, I could enter for free. During weekends, the museum hosts also short piano concerts for a hundred person at a time three times per day. The 30-minute concert attendance is included in your ticket cost. So if you're there visiting, then it's worthwhile to stay for the concert as well. The museum has a lot of reading panels, possibilities to listen to music Chopin's music are limited to approx 10 persons at a time. However, a some music of his is playing in the background during your whole visit. The building itself is renovated and presents the renesance style. In case you're a classical music lover, then don't go to the museum with small kids,, because they would quickly loose their interest. If you're ready just to read a little, walk through the building, it's possible to cover the whole thing with less than an hour. There's a rest room. There's a well-equipped museum store in the building. There's no cafe inside the building, however Cafe Note is just across. The cafe mainly offers drinks and...
Read moreI have found this museum very interesting though there are many aspects it can be improved. Interestingly the museum exhibits a lot of personal belongings of Chopin which do not tell any stories. The story, the life of Chopin can be learned only from the digital tablets placed in every room and those puzzles pieces reveal the life of Chopin. The artifacts and the names/labels/dates do not tell anything and simply as a casual museum visitor I could not attach those letters, notes etc to anything until I read all the tablets information. Also these tablets are hard to read, many time the touch screen is separated by a glass which make them hard to interact with. It seems to me and I assume that the exhibition is designed to those ones who already know Chopin life inside out and the music became the centre of attention. I had the chance to listen to a live piano concert at the basement of the museum which was unique and amazing performance. Overall Chopin museum is great and I have enjoyed it but the interesting facts are hidden in the tablets and structure of the displays and floors are not following any concepts. I hope the colleagues of the museum will read this comment and will make some improvements...
