The Roof — Restaurant in Warsaw

Unfortunately, our evening at The Roof was deeply disappointing. When booking through email, we agreed to the stated conditions: a minimum spend of 200 PLN per person and a specific request for a table with a panoramic view of the Samsung skyscraper. We fully accepted these terms in advance.

However, upon arrival, we were given a table in the corner, right next to the structural window joint, where the view was almost completely obstructed by thick metal seams. There was absolutely no view of the tower — in fact, no proper view at all. This arrangement clearly violated the initial request and showed a lack of thoughtful consideration from the management.

Despite pointing out the issue, no proper alternative was offered, even though the error was evidently on the venue’s side. We had to solve the problem ourselves, eventually settling for another available table in the center of the room — not with a view, but at least not in the corner.

The level of service was also well below expectations: — no one welcomed us at the entrance, — we stood unattended for almost 10 minutes while staff were visibly present, — we had three different waiters during the evening, — the order was taken slowly, — the food took almost 40 minutes to arrive.

Given the strict minimum spend policy, we expected a level of service and attention that would reflect the restaurant’s stated standards. Sadly, none of those expectations were met.

Summary: Despite attractive photos and high-end promises, the actual experience was poorly organized, unprofessional, and lacking customer care. I strongly advise against booking this venue — especially if you value atmosphere, panoramic views, and a quality...

If you're short in time, don't go there. There's a huge line of people waiting to be seated in front. The waiting time took us around 30 minutes. After being seated, we've been assigned a table without chairs and a view, even though we explicitly asked for it. After complain, we've been offered a place with a proper view, that was free from the beginning (actually there were a lot of free tables, which makes me curious why the queue was so long). The prices for cocktails vary from 43 to 79 złoty (with an exception of fun sour, that's a bit cheaper). On your recipe they add 12.5% tip, that you cannot decline, even when you're not happy with the service. We've been waiting for 30 minutes for a waitress to come collect our order. Then it took another 40 minutes to get the cocktail and extra 20 minutes to be able to pay. The local is not well prepared for the guests. Loudspeaker was above our heads pointing at us and the music was randomly getting to the level of a jet engine. After asking the waitress, if she can make the level constant, we've heard, that "she can't, cause nobody knows how this device really works, we're not the first ones asking and the manager also doesn't know"... that was awkward as the DJ was playing the music from literally 1 meter from the bar. tl;dr It's better to go to Marriott and get the view from there. STAY AWAY IF YOU DON'T WANT TO BE HUMILIATED. The worst experience I have ever had.

As a hotel guest, I was not allowed to enter the bar because it was "fully booked".... Of course it wasn't the case as their website clearly states that they don't take any reservations. The actual reason was my casual outfit, (this was not mentioned on the website) as the lady just looked at me and said "Next time dress up". There will be no next time.

I have never been treated with such disrespect as a hotel guest and believe me I have travelled a lot for business and leisure and even had the high IHG status before corona... Something like this NEVER happened to me in any 5* hotel in New York, London, the Seychelles, Munich... just name it. Sorry, I'm not going to carry my Guccis all over the planet to impress some hostess who is apparently letting in the escorts with fake LVs as some other opinions state. If I'm on holidays, I want to feel welcome at the hotel I stay in. It is just a hotel bar also for the guests not a fancy night club!!
