My family and I had a mixed experience at this restaurant. The food was fresh and delicious, and we all enjoyed our meals. However, there was an issue with the service.
Our waitress forgot to bring one of the sets of sushi that we ordered. I took a photo of the plate with the missing set, just in case. The rain started, so we decided not to wait for the missing set. When we asked for the check, our waitress brought the terminal with the price that included the missing set. However, she didn't give us an itemized paper check.
I asked her to show us the paper check, and only after that did she print it out. When we looked at the check, we saw that we were being charged for the food that we hadn't received. I pointed this out to the waitress, and she immediately agreed with me and corrected the check.
Other than that, the service was good. Our waitress was friendly. Overall, we had a good experience at the restaurant, but we would have been more satisfied if we hadn't had to count what we ordered and were being charged for.
Here are some suggestions for how the restaurant could improve its service:
Make sure that all orders are correct before they are brought to the table. Provide itemized paper checks to customers.
I would still recommend this restaurant to others, but I would be sure to mention the issue with...
Read moreThe restaurant indeed boasts a beautiful interior, and the service is both nice and helpful. The components, such as the salmon in the sushi, were unquestionably fresh and tasted good overall. However, in my opinion, it is a very overpriced place. I believe there are many other cool places that can compare with this one. A major downside is the incomplete menu; for example, there are no baked or hot sushi options, which many people adore. Another significant issue is with the tuna tartar. Perhaps I'm not an expert, but there were not little pieces of sliced tuna; it was literally minced tuna, making it impossible to identify any fish structure that tuna usually has. As vegetarians, it tasted obviously like ground meat, with only very small notes of fish taste discovered at the end. We pointed this out to the waiter, but it was stated that it has to be like...
Read moreVisited Wabu at its old location several years ago and was amazed - some of the best sushi outside Japan. Oh how times change. On walking in there were dirty tables, a spilled puddle of liquid, used napkins on the floor and loud dance music. Not a great first impression. The drink menu was well rounded and priced. The food menu had several sets with decent prices but which contained oddly almost no nigiri sushi, these could only be ordered in pairs for higher prices. Despite having several different selections the taste was much the same and they easily fell apart. Overall it was OK mediocre sushi but nothing memorable. It seems that this new Wabu is targeting quick corporate lunch crowds instead of quality and unique flavours. Sad - it just feels they don't care and are living off past reputation. Maybe an ok lunch but skip it for...
