On the 4th of February, I made a reservation at the Mykonos restaurant to celebrate my birthday. I was asked by the restaurant to provide the exact number of guests two days prior to the event, which I indicated was beyond my control as some guests may not be able to attend due to illness. Despite my concerns, I confirmed the reservation for 16 guests as per the confirmations received from my group.
On the day of the event, I promptly informed the restaurant via email that three guests had canceled and asked if everything was alright. The restaurant acknowledged my email but did not address the issue of the missing guests.
Upon arrival at the restaurant, we were seated at a table that accommodated only 13 guests, and 13 plates were laid out. At the end of the meal, we were charged for 16 guests, including 10% service fees for the 16 guests. This was a clear mistake as only 13 guests were served. Despite my attempts to rectify the issue with the manager on site, we were told to pay the bill in full and the issue would be resolved on Tuesday with the accountant.
On Tuesday, my boyfriend went to the restaurant as requested by them on Saturday. He waited for the accountant for 45 mins although the manager on Saturday told us we can come anytime. After waiting for 45 mins, my boyfriend tells the accountant what exactly happened as stated above , I will now include the exchange between the accountant (A) and my boyfriend (B).
B: If this is the only solution you're going to offer, I'll accept it, but this is not meeting halfway and it's unfair to us because no one informed us that we would be paying for the three missing people. And you're doing this so I'll come back to the restaurant and use the money. The email didn't state that we would pay for 16 even though 13 were coming.
A: This is what I offer, I will give you 250 zloty. And I will talk to the person who sent the email with this mistake.
The accountant offered to give my boyfriend a voucher worth 250 zloty as a solution, but my boyfriend expressed that this was not a fair resolution as we were not informed beforehand that we would be paying for the three missing people.
I called the accountant to seek a resolution, and when I expressed my intention to provide an honest review of my experience, the accountant threatened to call the police. I maintain that this is not a threat, but an honest assessment of the poor customer service and lack of communication we encountered at the restaurant.
In conclusion, the restaurant's lack of communication regarding the payment for the missing guests, the unprofessional behavior of the staff, and the poor customer service resulted in an unacceptable experience. I was forced to pay 429 zloty for the restaurant's mistake, and despite multiple attempts, I was unable to...
Read moreWe visited this restaurant hoping for a pleasant evening and a delicious meal — and when it came to the food, it really didn’t disappoint. We ordered a variety of dishes: from the kids’ menu — shrimp, and from the main menu — keftedakia, pikilia, meze for 2, pita, paidakia, and mix grill for 2. For dessert — Afrodita, cheesecake, and Milfei Mykonos.
The portions were generous, beautifully presented, and almost everything was truly delicious. The hot dishes were especially impressive — flavorful, well-seasoned, and satisfying. The meat was tender and juicy, and the side dishes were well-paired and complemented the mains nicely. The desserts were enjoyable, except for the Milfei Mykonos, which felt too heavy and lacked balance in flavor, falling short compared to the rest.
That said, the atmosphere left us with mixed feelings. The interior was nice, but the experience was affected by a few details. For instance, a staff member tried to light a candle on our table, but the lighter didn’t work. While the waitress politely apologized, it would’ve been a small but thoughtful gesture to simply bring over a lit candle from the unoccupied table nearby — yet this wasn’t offered.
Another point of discomfort was the tight table arrangement. The tables were placed very close to one another, and the chairs from neighboring tables were touching ours, making it difficult to move or even get up from the table without bumping into someone or something.
At the end of the meal, when our coats were returned, there was no place nearby to set down our belongings — no small table or chair — so we had to juggle coats and bags in our hands while getting dressed, which felt a bit inconvenient and unorganized.
Overall, the food was excellent, and we appreciated the generous portions and presentation. However, the ambience and attention to comfort and detail could certainly be improved. Right now, it’s a place we would recommend for the food, but not necessarily for a relaxing or seamless...
Read moreIf you're unlucky enough with the beautiful kitchen and the attentive waitstaff, you'll receive the gift of an unprofessional egotistical manager. When I asked if we could sit at the table in the corner, he said it was reserved. I mentioned that we have a reservation also which is booked a week ago, but he insisted the table was specifically booked. So, I pointed out that there was no space between the table he was trying to seat us at and the adjacent one. He then begrudgingly moved the table 5cm to the side and urged us to sit. Unfortunately, even after managing to change tables with the help of a friend, the proximity of the tables wasn't the only issue. We felt surrounded by people who, for the same reason we assumed we weren't in the restaurant, made the atmosphere uncomfortable with a plethora of people and visuals.
Later in the evening, as a bonus, the manager regularly pointed at us with his finger, talking about us to the other waitstaff and patrons. Unfortunately, I had only wanted to enjoy a pleasant meal while visiting my friends. However, it turns out that the manager took offense at my simply asking if we could move to another table, and hence, sought to punish us in his own way. It's incredibly disheartening to have such a beautiful establishment marred by such an employee. Everything else was as it should be, but if you're looking for a quieter and more leisurely Mediterranean feast, it's probably best to go on weekdays. Otherwise, the music turning into dance tunes can make the place a...
