We dined in on a Saturday evening around 1830. First off, they don't have a menu in English in the restaurant so look at their menu online before arriving. We ordered two pork Banh mi, a chicken and beef Bao buns. The woman looked confused and confirmed multiple times that is what we wanted saying Bao multiple times. However, what came out was Chinese noodles I have pictured. Quite obviously not a bun and when she delivered it to our table we tried to confirm and she just quickly said this is beef and this is chicken. The Banh mi was unlike any Banh mi we've and we've had it in the Vietnam, United States, and Japan. I know it's a Vietnamese sandwich, but I think it was made in a more Chinese style as I'm sure I heard the cook in the back speaking in either Mandarin or Cantonese. The Chinese noodles (not buns) we got were okay but needed some spice. Either the Bann mi or the noodles we ate upset both our stomachs and it took almost two days and some Imodium for us to feel regular.
Edit: I have added a new photo of a screenshot from the online English menu to show that you offer buns. While it may not be Bao, the word "bun" should be a pretty good indication of what we wanted. Furthermore, the word "Bun" is clearly on your menu in the restaurant. Also, we clearly pointed to what we wanted and used the numbers. Being that you're in a food service and customer service industry you should take a little more care to clarify confusion when explaining what a particular menu item is. It was also clear when you brought the noodles out that you felt vindicated that we ordered the wrong thing and you just brought what the stupid people ordered so that's our problem.
The Banh mi we had was unlike Banh mi we had in Vietnam. It's also unlike Banh mi we regularly have from a restaurant back home that is owned and operated COMPLETELY by a Vietnamese family.
Maybe spend less time talking to your friend in the corner and a little more time paying attention to your job. No matter if you're the owner, manager, or just a server. It looks bad when you're just sitting around chatting and several of the napkin dispensers are empty at the booths. Not something I would care about otherwise, but if you want to start going down that road.
Finally, your food made us borderline sick. Which you didn't...
Read moreI visited this restaurant 12.01.2023, everything seemed to be nice, ordered their bahn mi with shrimps asking the waitress whether there were vegetables inside - she answered, that yes, mostly cucumbers, so I ordered it thinking, that it contained only shrimps and vegetables as I am pescatarian. Again, menu doesn’t say a word, that bahn mi has meat pate. When I received the baguette or Vietnamese sandwich as stated in menu, I found out it was with meat, specifically pork pate 🤷🏻♀️ so I asked the waitress to reconfirm that was meat, and the waitress said “yes, u asked just about vegetables, so I answered just about vegetables”🤦🏻♀️ what an attentive answer 🤷🏻♀️ They didn’t apologize, didn’t offer any substitute meal (they could have redone it with another baguette eliminating pork pate and that’s it), didn’t give money back (despite the manager telling me to send 20 pln back). The manager also told me - “you could have checked on Google” (of course, it’s the first thing I do in the restaurant, I mean, really?) or ask (which I kinda did, dah) 🤣 well, dear manager, description on the Internet does not say a word that bahn mi is ONLY meaty sandwich, it can have different fillings, so when u wrote in your menu with shrimps - for me it means with shrimps (it’s also protein) and not with shrimps and meat! I also did a small research and not a single bahn mi with shrimps recipe has MEAT! The way I was treated is very mean, I do not recommend this place to anyone - I paid 27 pln for nothing and then was blamed, that it was my fault, zero customer service! One star is basically for pad Thai, which my...
Read moreI have been there twice... and intend to return
First time : 1) Spring roll + Pho BO (#13) : Both excellent
Second Time : #76 BUN BO (Saigon way) : Superb, try this, large portion, absolutely as good as in France or US/California (not so comment for Vietnamese food in Wroclaw.
A comment for the spring rolls ("NEMS") : they are delicious, but I would like the same (larger portion) + lettuce + Nuoc Mam (fish sauce) as a separate menu item.
The sauces a very good. One sauce served with spring rolls is good but too sweet for my taste. The green tea is very good too. The Coleslaw with the spring rolls (nems) is just not as great as green lettuce: consider a "fancier" menu item (as above), just adjust the price accordingly...
No alcohol license, but I guess they allow you to bring your own (better to ask).
Conclusion : 1) Five Stars, without reservation. 2) Should return soon to try...
