Gazdowo Kuznia is a Polish highlander themed resturant and bar located in one of Zakopane's oldest buildings (1891). The food menu and drinks menu is extensive focusing on local traditional dishes including roasted pig, knuckle of pork and roast pork ribs. We visited Gazdowo Kuznia on your way back from the Gubalowka Gora around 3:00PM on a Thursday finding plenty of space. The interior is cozy and resembles a log cabin with long wodeen tables and benches with the ceiling and walls adorned by old objects including wodeen sleds. One of rooms at the back features a large fireplace and a great view of the central street - recommended spot.
We ordered the grilled sausage (kiekbasa) and a traditional soup which were both large in size and tasty but nothing extraordinary. The wait was about 20 minutes for the food, but it seemed worthwhile. While we missed the live folkloric live music we where told by locals it was both fun and authentic. The crowd included large groups of tourists and locals making this a perfect spot for large groups.
The total cost of the meal was above average price. Including one soup, one main dish, one malt wine, one sparkling water and one side dish the total came too 66 zloty including...
Read moreWe had a memorable dinner at Gazdowo Kuźnia in Zakopane, and I wanted to share our fantastic experience. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by our waitress, Patricia, whose hospitality and professionalism made our evening even more enjoyable. Patricia took the time to answer all my questions about the country with great patience and knowledge, adding a rich cultural layer to our meal.
For starters, we chose the traditional grilled oscypek. This smoked sheep cheese, typical of the region, was perfectly grilled, offering a delightful combination of a crispy exterior and a rich, melting interior.
For the main course, my wife opted for the pork ribs. They were tender, juicy, and perfectly seasoned, effortlessly falling off the bone.
I decided to try the pork knuckle, and it was a culinary adventure well worth taking. The knuckle was cooked to perfection, with a crispy skin on the outside and incredibly tender and flavorful meat on the inside.
Kudos to the entire Gazdowo Kuźnia team for a magnificent...
Read moreIt was the best restaurant that we tried in Zakopane (we came back for a second time too!). The food was very tasty, fresh and the meat was soft. Everything we tried tasted amazing! In other places the waiters/waitresses didn't speak English and didn't even try to be helpful with a translator. Here we got the perfect waitress, with really nice English, and a helpful attitude. She explained the food and gave recommendations, and offered a Hungarian menu (this was the only place that had that even though there are many Hungarian tourists). She also helped with possible allergens (my mother has gluten problems), and took the problem seriously (which wasn't the case in other places). The waitress's name was Palala so we want to say a huge thank you, she made our stay so welcomed and special! This place is a must try if you're...
