Fantastic food. We stumbled upon this restaurant after being turned away from another near by restaurant. I am so happy we were turned away. Our meal here was excellent and probably the best we had in Portugal. We are from the USA and used to eating earlier than here in Evora. We showed up 5 minutes before they opened at 7:25 PM and they sat us right away. They filled the tables right at 7:30. I knew once I saw all the tables getting filled at once that the food might take slightly longer. That didn't bother us. We were determined to just enjoy each other's company and the ombiance which was fantastic. We started with the Covert which was great. The olives, bread, fried pork fat and cheese pastries were far better than expected. We also got the sauteed mushrooms for an appetizer and the mix of mushrooms and an intense and very pleasant flavor. My 10 years old ordered the roast Chicken with mashed potatoes and left nothing on the plate. My 14 year old ordered the veal steak and told me it was the best he had ever had. I was very interested in trying the black pork from the region and I sure ordered the right meal by getting the pork tenderloin. My wife got a vegetarian dish and she said it was extremely good. The sangria was on point and the kids loved the chocolate cake. What a great meal and experience. If we ever get back to Evora we will be back. The service was very good and they apologized for how long it took but we were having a good time and didn't feel like it was too long. 1.5 hrs for a full meal with dessert didn't feel like it was too long for us especially considering almost everyone sat down at the same time. They wanted us to wait (2 people) for 40 minutes even that the restaurant was empty 😂 We could literally make the reservation right now and wait 7 minutes more instead But there are so many better restaurants that don't do such a weird thing. I don't recommend

Adding comment to their response: We spent some days in this cute town and is a shame to observe how the person in charge of Google opinions is replying to someone that wanted to visit this restaurant, what you're now replying was easy to say in a polite mode of course once we were there but no, is clear you are not professional, so I completely pass and no recommend it all to treat with unprofessional people hired at this place

What is more funny is that you mentioned we don't know anything about restaurants and table reservations when I could make a reservation at that same minute online as shown on the screen shot so it was possible to get in instead of wanted us to wait 40 minutes more... If you really know how you're online reservations work,...

We were five, and ordered salads and a gazpacho. The gazpacho was brought at table more than a half hour before the other plates. When asked the waiter, they were laughing of it. It may not happen, but it did the said. He mentionned he had experience in a star restaurant. Well, when I mentionned that the service is very low and If he wants to be compared as a star restaurant there will be miles of work and improvements to do. BAM! After reflection on his behalf, he brought a new gazpacho the same time of the other plates. Yeah right, eating alone and then waiting waiting waiting… not a service at all. Small plates too. And a suggestion for healthy reasons: cad the waiter stop putting his thumb inside the glasses when he pours in the drinks at the table. Not very hygienic. As it was a starter? Really? Why not saying it when only 5 plates and 5 persons ? Faking...
