Today, an incident occurred that was deeply hurtful and entirely unacceptable for me, my companion, and most importantly, our four young children.
From the very moment we entered your establishment, we felt clearly unwelcome due to the presence of our children. Unfortunately, this unsettling feeling was confirmed in a way we never could have imagined.
After politely requesting to exchange the hard end pieces of bread in the bread basket – as our children simply couldn’t eat them – we were firmly told that this would only be possible if we ordered a third bread basket at an additional charge. We declined. Nevertheless, a third basket was brought to our table without our consent. I returned it to the counter, explaining that we had not requested it.
What followed was a shocking escalation: the staff member, visibly angry, approached our table and demanded that we leave the premises. Thus, we found ourselves in the absurd situation of two mothers being thrown out of a restaurant with four hungry children – all because of a bread basket that we neither ordered nor accepted.
My friend left the restaurant with the children while I remained behind to speak to the staff member. He then physically blocked my path and aggressively insisted that I pay the full bill of €27.70 for what we had consumed up to that point. I felt extremely intimidated and threatened. In my distress, I handed him €40 in cash. He then refused to give me the change, stating: “That’s for the way you behaved.”
In a state of shock and desperation, I turned to a woman in a nearby shop and explained the situation. She advised me to report the incident to the police – which I did. By that time, it was late in the evening. Our children were hungry, and we were emotionally exhausted. No one willingly puts themselves in such a situation, especially not with young children.
What happened that evening was not only profoundly disrespectful, but a blatant display of power by a man who abused his position in a demeaning and...
Read moreWe ordered two *Bife de vazia a memoria. Since it was meat with a 'strange' sauce we asked for it with the sauce on the side, they brought us the plates with the sauce on the food. I couldn't eat it; it was too sweet. Apparently, the chef, instead of informing the waitress that the dishes couldn't be with the sauce on the side, he-she made them without hesitation anyway instead of telling the waitress and giving us the option to change the dish. The only good thing was the attention of the waitress, but she was alone, so everything was a little but slow. It's not the first time that in Portugal had a bad experience when it comes to gastronomy. It seems that it's a matter of luck to find a good place and that they care about the...
Read moreSaw the review note but decided to try out anyway... Not pleased at all... This is my first one star review. I ordered a vegetable soup, a grelhada mista and a extra fries plate. The soup was OK (could use more salt) and the meat also OK but the fries ruined everything... They were Raw! Kinda seemed strange the quick food delivery after ordering... Also the extra plate of fries tasted like fried fish! That's what you get for reusing oil. Disgusting really... Also it may be my impression but... I do think that the napkin was reused... Not sure on that one. On top of it all, I almost had to pay 20€ for one person meal... Are you nuts? Not recommend at all. There are far better places nearby for less money and a lot...
