Taberna O Lidador — Restaurant in Óbidos

Overall: Hard to recommend based on what we got, but it could still be an option if your choices are limited.

The good: The outside of the restaurant is beautiful, depending on the time of year you come (with flowers blooming). Staff was friendly and the prices are reasonable. Large menu to choose from, and plenty of seating both inside and out. Free WiFi.

The not-so-good: We got the "peppers and steak", which surprisingly had the steak covered in a white gravy with whole black peppers instead of what you would traditionally think bell peppers and steak. It wasn't warm either, and the fries and salad were forgettable and bland. We left disappointed and still hungry.

We stopped here for a drink and then went back for a meal the next night. The weather was a bit hit and miss so we ate inside but imagine the outside seating at the rear is nicer. I went for the Francesina a portugese dish with bread meat and cheese - If you are really hungry and have a huge appetite this is the dish for you. My wife had chicken which was tasty. This is the place for tasty big portions of food rather than fancy stuff. Good...
