Central but off the main drag - so no hordes of tourists streaming past your table. Service by the Maitre D very welcoming, but as I was a solo diner he would disappear mid-sentence to welcome new groups of diners at the door. Understandable as there was only one waitress who was always busy. So busy in fact that my wine took rather a while to arrive and I had to exhort the Maitre D for help. The Vinho Verde was described as dry but came in a screwtop bottle and was sweet (to my taste). A fresh bottle with a cork much improved the situation and the price charged was kindly the same as the first bottle. An ice bucket was swiftly delivered and all was wonderful. The Bacalhau à Brás fish dish was interesting. It arrived on a plate similar to a soup dish. Again understandable as the consistency of the food needed more of a bowl shape than flat plate - but on first impression it did look a little "minimal". The raw egg on top was a surprise, but actually when mixed in with the shredded cod held everything together (as was the egg's purpose). The dish itself was both tasty and filling . It did match up to the Maitre D claim to be "The best in town". I would highly recommend this friendly little (30 covers or so) restaurant The prices are fair. Worth 5 stars when the above sorted out. I would also request the constant loud pings of inconsiderate social media users be turned down. Quit pings are OK, but constant loud ones do reduce the enjoyment of a peaceful...
Read moreThis place is incredible. No doubt, this is one of the best restaurants I've ever visited. If you're looking for REAL Authentic Portuguese food, this is the place. Taberna Suadade is located close to the Old town city Square. At first glance, we walked pass this little gem 💎. The restaurant is so local that it's located on a very small side road, which is hard to find. Even with GPS, we managed to walk past this place.
We've got this place recommended by a lot of people - Portuguese local people.
The prices are good and fair, the Quality is extraordinary. This place is one of the best places we've ever eaten. Would definitely come back another time. Our only problem, was that we didn't get to taste the entire menu, their menu is packed with flavors and the staff is incredible. The atmosphere inside is beautiful, relaxed and lovely.
Would 5/5 recommend this place If you are looking into trying REAL PORTUGUESE food ❤️
5 stars for the food. 5 stars for the staff. 5 stars for the atmosphere.
And - not to mention! The wine 🍷 Wow. So good, try their "Green Wine"

We wanted to escape the touristy, one-size-fits-all menus that dominate the old town of Albufeira, and we couldn’t have been happier to stumble upon this spot. From the moment we walked in, we were charmed by the cozy setting and the genuinely friendly staff who went out of their way to make us feel at home. The service was impeccable—professional yet personal, with every detail thoughtfully taken care of.
The food was simply outstanding: beautifully presented, bursting with flavor, and clearly prepared with care and pride. Each dish was memorable, and the balance of quality and affordability was unbeatable.
We loved it so much that we came back twice during our five-night stay—no other place quite lived up to it. A true highlight of our trip, and one we’ll be recommending to anyone...
