Cuica Praia — Restaurant in Albufeira

Summary: bad food but friendly personal, overall a mediocre experience.

Warning: we did dine with a pretty big group (12 men) so your experience may vary.

Firstly, the pasta my friend got was cold. Whilst we didn't expect the best pasta (since it mainly is a sea food/meat restaurant), the fact that the pasta was cold still let us down. This same friend ordered nachos that were soft, and the guacamole that came with the nachos came straight from a can. Secondly the fries and other side dishes were pretty bad (the fries, for example, were soft). However looking at the bright side: the staff from the restaurant were friendly and even offered us free drinks. Moreover the view from the restaurant was great and the interior looked alright.

Went with my partner in April. Location is great, right on the seafront, and the staff are very friendly and accommodating. The atmosphere is really nice inside, clean, well lit, open to the sea as well as the glass doors can be opened or closed We both got fresh fish but were a little disappointed with the flavour of the cod, however, salmon was beautifully cooked. Drinks were very well made, albeit a bit expensive. We were offered bread and butter etc for starters but didn't expect for it to be added onto the bill, especially being charged for each individual butter and spread, even if they don't get used. I've been hearing about this place for a while so the girlfriend and I visited this place twice in a week. First visit we sat outside with beautiful views of the beach. Girlfriend had the burger and I had the chicken sandwich. Both were perfect. Nice meat to bun ratio. Our server was Pedro I think. Really nice guy and quick on his feet to get you what you need.

The second visit I had a t bone and the girlfriend has the shrimp/ squid on a stick. The steak was beautiful, cooked perfectly. The fries were a nice touch also. The gf loved the shrimp and squid but couldent finish it all. She said," it's too big". Come on girl, we know that's a lie. Service at the table was great so I left a tip accordingly.
