Food was delicious and service from the two waiters that served us (Jason and Sook(?)) was excellent. They greeted us and took care of us and brought water for our doggy. Halfway through our very yummy food, some dude (presumably the owner, judging from the inflated level of entitlement and rudeness) started closing the awnings down, and my friend asked if he could keep one open so we continue to have shade. He kept taking it down and dismissed her with a wave of his hand and started barking at her. She said she's lived in Portugal for 3 years and not once has a man treated her as a person and as a customer with so much disrespect. Jason came in to try to mediate the situation and he got yelled at too. It was so sad to see this, from all accounts. Staff shouldn't be treated this way, and a courteous conversation with a customer requesting something (not outrageous, mind you) can go a long way. Someone else here left a review saying some man yelled at her too (mind you, his response is that she is mistaken. Another toxic, gaslighting attempt to not take responsibility and do whatever he wishes with no regard for others). I'm here to stand up for her, for the staff, for my friend, and anyone else who in this day and age has to deal with obnoxious, entitled characters like this man. He made me not want to return, even if the food was amazing, and so was the service. The experience left me and my friend with a bad taste in our mouths...
Read morePopped in for a couple of beers after visiting other bars and restaurants nearby. I queried the price of a local draught beer,€6….. I believe I was spoken to by the manager who seemed very happy to tell me that was what they charge there. We had paid 3 to 4 euros elsewhere. I told him it was expensive and he smiled and shrugged. I got the impression he wasn’t bothered and was taking advantage of the nice location. Went for an English breakfast today and paid €6 for a great breakfast at restaurant Oriental next door. Went across and checked the same breakfast ( using exact same photograph to advertise it) at Borda d’Agua. €8… The larger breakfast was €6 more than the large at the Oriental…. Speaks for itself Vastly overpriced...
Read moreDuring our family visit to Praia da Oura, we decided to dine at this beachside restaurant. The restaurant's ambience is striking, offering both indoor and outdoor seating with a picturesque beach view from the outdoor area. However, we were disappointed by the limited options on the menu, particularly the absence of Sardines, a staple beachside dish. Our order included pizza, chicken grill, hot wings, and deep-fried prawns, but sadly, none of them met our expectations. The quality fell below the standard we anticipated from such an establishment. Adding to the disappointment were the exorbitant prices, typical of beachside restaurants. If you're considering dining here solely for the view, I would...
