Apartamentos Borda d´Água — Hotel in Albufeira

The hotel was averagely clean and comfortable. There was no bar/restaurant on site or poolside. The associated bar/restaurant was down at the beach.There was no night porter or caretaker on during the night which resulted in unpoliced uncontrolled levels of noise throughout the night every night of our stay. There was NO evening or after hour service. On one night in particular we locked our room key inside the apartment. We did not realise until we tried to gain entrance to the property later on that evening. There was a number to call outside the door which read 12.00-06.00 phone number. We called the number and we heard a Portuguese man screaming down the phone to us. He then hung up. Meanwhile two 50 year old men appeared on the steps of the apartment extremely intimidating for a couple who were not at ease with their new surroundings.||The man that was on the phone then came to the property to then proceed to shout in our faces that "In my day if we lost a key we would sleep rough on the beach not disturb someone". This is an absolutely appalling level of service and extremely rude customer service. We did not spend 720 EUR (200 extra for sea view) to sleep on the beach for one whole night just because we forgot to take our key with us. It is an absolute disgrace that we would be expected to do such a thing. We were well within our rights to ask to be let into the apartment that we had paid to spend the night. Had they have employed proper levels of staff and a proper night service then this man would not have to come to the property.||I also believe that having two people stay in a room require two separate sets of keys. We are both adults and enjoy spending time alone as we have different likes/dislikes. ||I was in complete disbelief at this mans attitude, words and behaviour towards us. All whilst intimidating us with two other men standing at the door of the apartment. I will never stay here ever again. There are plenty of other places close to the beach with much better customer service and the correct amount of night policing to allow all holiday makers to...

Just returned from a 4 day stay with my daughter in an apartment with a sea view. Excellent value for money!. The apartment had everything we needed. The owners provided shampoo, body wash, towels, dish washer tablets, laundry capsules, washing up liquid, nespresso coffee pods. These were greatly received, very thoughtful and most helpful. As my daughter was celebrating her 21st birthday yesterday, we were also generously gifted a bottle of fizz. The apartment was clean, TV had Netflix which required a bit of setting up, it was a bit tricky as it was in Portuguese, but Google translate made it manageable. |Apartment is perfectly situated just a few yards from the beach, several restaurants, cafes and gift shops in very close proximity. Also very close by are the local Tuk Tuk drivers to enable you to get around the town for a small fee.|All interactions I had with the owners was wonderful. There were prompt, professional, helpful responses to my questions. We were able to store our luggage before check-in Transfers were arranged by the owners quickly and efficiently and followed up with email confirmation. We felt reassured by their professionalism and it felt like they were genuinely pleased to have us stay and that our happiness was their priority. We met Maria when we dropped our luggage off, she was an absolute delight, she showed us the local shops and services and showed us around the apartments and was so helpful.|I would absolutely return here and recommend it to everyone, the cost, locality and wonderful staff make it the ideal spot for a stay...

Stayed here last week. Accommodation was ok, but the service at the end of our stay was just terrible! |The reception through out the whole week was hit or miss as to whether it was open or shut.|On our last day, we had a late departure and was being picked up at 7 pm to get our plane, so we needed to put our suitcases in the locked up luggage room, as we were doing a final excursion.|We asked the guy on reception what time he was closing and he said 7pm, so we said we would have dinner and come back at 6.45pm to collect our luggage, when we came back, at 6.40pm it was all locked up and we had no way, unless we smashed the door in to get our suitcases.|As you can imagine, we were frantic, and our transfer was arriving at 7pm.|Luckily, my husband ran around the local shops, and they found another owner of other apartments located in that building that had a key to the luggage room. Without him, we would not have got our bags back.|The telephone numbers on the door of the reception go to other apartment owners, and they told us that he had done this before, and they had other people ringing them frantically the same.|They have told us his name is Toze.|We have opened a complaint with booking.com who is the company we used to book the accommodation.|This is the first time I have ever complained about a holiday, but I was so stressed when we came back to find he had literally deliberately left us stranded with out our luggage, that I felt other holiday makers need to know what happened to us, hopefully booking .com can make sure it doesn't...
