A must-visit seafood gem in Albufeira
If you’re looking for fresh, beautifully prepared fish and seafood in Albufeira, Festa da Praia is a standout. Tucked away from the tourist traps, this cozy family-run spot delivers both quality and authenticity. We ordered the grilled seabass, seabream and sole (prepared at the table) — all were exceptional. So was the grilled chorizo served in a flaming dish. The freshness of the fish was undeniable, and the simplicity of the seasoning let the ingredients shine.
Service was warm and attentive without being rushed. You could tell they genuinely cared about the experience. Paola and Pedro treated us like family. We also appreciated the thoughtful touch of gluten-free options, which made dining here a lot easier for someone with dietary restrictions.
Prices were very reasonable, especially considering the quality of the seafood and the generous portions. Tip: make a reservation if you’re dining during peak season — this is the kind of place locals go back to, and with good reason.
Highly recommended for anyone looking to enjoy an honest, delicious meal in Albufeira. A highlight...
Read moreThird time we've had a meal here, dinner twice and lunch once. Every time has been amazingly delicious. We've had Black pork cheeks (tender with a hint of delicious, flavorful sauce), cod in cream (bachalauo especial), lamb chops (tender and perfectly grilled) tiger prawns (too delicious for words to describe), crispy french fries, and, tuna Algarve style (perfectly grilled medium, with onions, carrots, broccoli and cauliflower and an amazing buttery olive oil drizzle). Remember to start with the carrots and olives. Unique and flavorful.
And the desserts....apple pie a mile high, almond tart with a toffee top (don't share this one!) and chocolate mousse. Looking forward to trying the rest.
Finish off the meal with the small, complimentary port (the glasses are adorable).
Diogo is a great and friendly waiter. If you don't speak Portuguese, he will happily speak English or help learn a few new words in Portuguese.
And then there is Paula, the owner. She is a sweet gem and always makes time to chat with the customers. She runs a...
Read moreThis is a nice little restaurant, that is quite obviously family friendly. We came here the first night after 26 hours of continuous travel. The food was spectacular. I had pan fried sardines and the wife had rock mackerel, both of which were delicious. Our meals were part of a three course meal.
I did not care for the soup, but it was still good, made with fresh vegetables. The children's food was standard fare and nothing to get excited about (pizza, fries, chicken nuggets). The dessert was excellent. The adult food was very fresh.
Parents will love the play area set aside for kids. It is best suited to those younger than 10 years of age.
Overall I recommend this restaurant. We will return before we...
