I arrived on Tuesday, 23rd September 2025, for a 7-night solo holiday, and have been extremely disappointed with the service, conditions, and treatment I’ve experienced at this hotel so far.
Misleading Hotel Description
The hotel does not reflect the listing on your website. The pool is very small, and amenities such as a cabana (as advertised) do not exist. This misrepresentation has impacted my holiday expectations and experience.
Room 303 – Unacceptable Conditions
Upon check-in, I was allocated Room 303, which I strongly believe is a former or current staff quarters room:
Heavy smell of mould, dirty, stained carpets and bedsheets.
Outdoor table and chairs were filthy, with dead flies and stained cushions.
Broken window and unsafe location with the only access being from the pool area.
Located next to staff rooms, contributing to an unsafe and unwelcoming atmosphere — especially distressing as a solo female traveller.
I raised this immediately and was told I could change rooms the next day, which I agreed to.
Inappropriate Threats by the Hotel Manager
On the morning of Wednesday 24th, I was confronted by the hotel manager, Pablo, in an aggressive and threatening manner. He accused me of having guests stay over and demanded €120 in cash, or I would be evicted from the hotel and I should contact the airline. This was extremely distressing and humiliating.
At no point were guests staying overnight — my cousin and his friend briefly escorted me back to the hotel and left shortly after.
There was no signage or policy provided about visitors, nor was this on the website.
I apologised and made it clear it would not happen again, yet he continued to threaten eviction.
I ultimately felt so unsafe and shaken that I handed over €70 in cash, as this was all I had, just to avoid being thrown out alone in a foreign country.
I strongly suspect this was a scam to extort cash, as they refused to accept card payment. This interaction left me in tears, feeling intimidated, isolated, and deeply uncomfortable.
Poor Facilities & Cleanliness
Breakfast was inadequate and of low quality (only croissants, rolls, ham, and cheese).
Dining area was unclean with dead flies visible on window sills.
The fridge in my room does not work, meaning I cannot store drinks or water.
Wi-Fi does not work in my room (Room 206), which I reported.
I had to clean and sanitise the room myself using my own products after asking the chambermaid to vacuum it.
Inadequate Staffing
There appears to be one staff member, Lary, managing the reception, bar, pool, complaints, and more — which is highly unprofessional for a hotel of this cost and standard.
Summary:
I paid nearly £1,300 for a relaxing, comfortable solo getaway. Instead, I have been:
Intimidated and threatened by the manager
Moved between unsuitable and unclean rooms
Left to feel unsafe, isolated, and emotionally distressed.
This was meant to be a 7 day chilled holiday but the hotel staff made me feel uncomfortable. Considering the hotel was a ghost town.
Lary was tbe best staff member who was able to help with...
Read moreWe arrived earlier than the usual check in time and our room was not ready yet so we left our luggage in the luggage room and decided to go for a walk and grab some lunch. The Strip is full of restaurants so it wasn't hard to find somewhere to eat. We check out the strip to see what was there before we headed back to the hotel for check in. Once checked in we asked if they had a lift as we had a few suitcases and they said there was no lifts! Which where we had to lug all out suitcases up 2 flights of stairs! I'm assuming the gentleman at the desk was the owner who was very moody and had no good customer service. What happened to service with a smile! The room itself was ok and clean but the lighting in there was terrible we only had 1 bulb working on the main light and 2 bedside lights. The lighting in the bathroom was way better (us girls need good lighting to do our makeup). The a/c system made so much noise because it was old we had to keep turning it on and off in the night as the rooms tend to get too hot after a while. The balcony only had 1 chair so we requested to have another chair put there but after 2 days still no chair so I asked Rita (the manager) if I could take a chair as I've waited 2 days I'd rather just take one up myself and she said I could take the one from her office. The swimming pool was not clean at all bit of stuff floating inside and hair. Sunbeds were old and squeaky. Location of hotel : if you want no sleep this is the place to go stay haha. The amount of noise from the cars and tuk tuks and all the drunk people walking up and down made it very hard to sleep as the windows were very thin and you could hear everything outside! One of the patio doors didn't even lock which was not good as we didn't feel our stuff was safe inside. The Strip was located just down the street a 8-10 min walk. There was also 2 beaches in walking distance one only 8 min walk which you could see old town from or even walk to and the other a 15 min walk away. Breakfast at the hotel was just standard, croissants and bread rolls, cheese, ham, scrambled eggs only, fruit, and cereal. For drinks tea/coffee or juice. The snack menu was nice the chips and pizza were delicious.
The tuktuk have a fixed charge of 10 euros around Albufeira, you're better off using bolt or uber as its cheaper.
Overall I would not stay in this hotel again, alot of maintainance needs doing here. They are lucky to have an amazing manager as good as Rita. Without her this place would have fallen to pieces and they would get no one...
Read moreI stayed at KR hotels during August, it was advertised that we would have a fully equipped kitchen , fridge and hairdryer which was exactly what we needed therefore booked this hotel. Although we had none of that , just a bed, bathroom and balcony. It’s not a dirty hotel and it is pretty standard but I paid for a kitchen and didn’t receive one. On top of that our rooms was only cleaned once the 5 days we stayed there. There was never any staff on reception and no one was even there to check us in our key was just left on an envelope on the desk with my name on it open for anyone to take. Pool was decent can’t complain nothing fancy but was decent enough, outdated sun beds though. Also on our 2nd night we were asked for a £150 deposit in cash , I get a deposit but £150? And in cash ? Sempt a bit dodgy. Nether the less we was never asked for it again so never actually paid that deposit, makes me think that it was never actually needed and they were just trying to make a few more bucks out of us. Finally at the end of our trip when we was checking out we was missing 1 of the rooms cards. We were given 2 at the start of our stay , one with a physical key attached to the card to open and lock the door and one which just turned electricity off and on. We had lost the card which had no key, just was a piece of plastic. When they asked for both cards back we explained we had lost a card and was sincerely sorry, we was then screamed at by this women and told to pay something like £30 or £50 euros for it I can’t remember the exact price. Obviously I refused and we were leaving and I explained there was no chance I was paying that sort of money for a piece of plastic which they probably have 1000 more under the desk. The lady was very unreasonable and rude so we walked away from her while she was shouting, she proceeded to follow us outside and call us names and make us feel uncomfortable, we just ignored her and pretended she wasn’t there which did the job as she walked back inside. Overall it was a half decent hotel but not what I paid for and was quite disappointing. I would recommend this hotel if u just need a bed and bathroom or just somewhere to sleep. It’s a good location overall about 10 min walk from new town strip and 5 minute uber to old town which was only £3-4 , but don’t expect good service and welcoming staff and it is quite...
