We have passed here a few times. It seemed reasonsbly busy with a good mix of customers (locals, tourists and Indians) which is always a good sign of a restaurants food. The reviews looked good to 4.7 so couldn’t really see any reason why not to visit.
We came as a couple. The restaurant is small and basic. Authentic to a degree. The staff were polite and professional. It wasn’t busy so nothing could have gone wrong. I would assume on a busy night it might get a little hectic. For us it was OK. Sunday evening very quiet.
We ordered the usual. Lamb Vindaloo / not spicy as can be but lovely. It had ginger shards in which was different Lamb Korma - this was amazing like so good the best dish we ordered. How I remember it back in the 80s/90s. Very good Pilau rice Peshwari naan - again this was superb. More of a flat bread style so quite dense but how it should be and full of flavour that and the korma. Just amazing. Saag paneer - this was the only thing I wasn’t amazed by. It was ok but not what I was expecting but it was ok. I was stiffed anyway.
The place was nice and atmosphere was good. Food was great so I would say if you fancy a curry off the beaten track (away from old town and new town) then give this a go. I would advise in season to book via google if you can. Incase it’s busy. I would say 10 tables inside maybe 5 outside but don’t...
Read moreFirstly, this was one of the nicest Indian meals I've ever had. Secondly the staff, in particular Tony, were so pleasent.
I sat outside with my wife and 2 kids. We all had popadoms while waiting to order. We shared vegetable samosas and chicken pakora for starters. Beautiful.
For mains, my 7 year old had butter chicken which he demolished, I had chicken jalfrezi and my wife had lamb curry. As you can see from the last pic, not a bite was spared.
Everything was really fresh, and really tasty without being greasy...and the best part?, it was very reasonable. It really is a Great Indian Tandoori!
A perfect little restaurant just 5 minutes from the new strip. I'll give it a five...
Read moreI came here for lunch after seeing such great reviews and now I understand why! I had the chicken tandoori and garlic naan. I asked if they could add a little spice to the naan and they were more than happy to do so. Both were so flavorful and delicious! The chicken was so tender that it easily came right off the bone when I pulled it with a fork. I ate every bit of it! The service was fantastic and one employee recommended I use a green sauce he brought and I'm glad he did because it paired so well with the flavors of the chicken. I wish I'd discovered this place sooner in my trip so I could have eaten here more!...
