O Manuel — Restaurant in Albufeira

My partner and his family brought me here as a special treat, and we were treated extremely rudely from the moment that we walked in the door. So much so, that two of our party of six literally got up and left the table to eat in another location. I’m not sure if it was because our table was speaking in Portuguese (and therefore not the ‘typical tourists’), but the two people taking care of our table (who are the owners!!) did nothing but disrespect our table from the moment that we sat down. I have never been in such an incredibly situation in a restaurant before. The service is also very slow - in line with many comments below. It took 40 minutes from the time that we ordered to receive our food. Blood on the plates, microwaved rice, no seasoning anywhere! Not one (remaining) person at our table finished their meal. Someone else commented that this is typical Portuguese food? I am sorry if that is your experience. There is such amazing food in this country, this is not the place to come to experience it. Genuine Portuguese restaurant. Friendly staff. The manageress is very attentive to the customer's wellbeing and satisfaction. The food both meat and fish is excellent and fresh. The portions are more than well served. You will not leave hungry! The wine proposed is perfect. This place is more than worthwhile for a good simple but tasty local meal that will bot break the bank! And contrary to other places you are not rushed to eat to leave place for the next customers. As returning diners the food as always was lovely, however the same cannot be said for the manners of the waiter who took our order. He demonstrated a level of rudeness to our guests from the USA that was embarrassing and extremely disappointing. We had recommended the restaurant to our friends (in total a party of 10) who holiday in Olhos regularly, and had it not been for the size of the party we would have got up and walked out. Everyone was shocked as he proceeded to argue with the most placid chap in our party about the amount of blood there may or may not be in his steak once cooked.
