After a quick Google for gf restaurants we figured we’d try this place.
Gary introduced us and walked us up the stairs and prepared a table, spoke about how the owners daughter is celiac which lead to the restaurants inclusivity. Both myself and my sister are gluten intolerant so this place was a real gem.
Pros: The best and I mean it, the best GF pizza I’ve ever had! And believe me when I say I’ve tried a lot of GF pizzas in the U.K. and none compared, not only does this taste normal, it also tastes great; even better than most gluten pizzas 🍕 All the staff were so lovely, I didn’t catch the name of our main server, he was a middle aged man with black hair, he made jokes, had a positive attitude and explained the menu(s) clearly. The atmosphere is great nice and chill no worries of order being messed up. The desserts are top tier, homemade tiramisu which my bf loved completely matched the photos. My sister had the cheesecake looking one (I don’t remember what it’s called) and loved hers too. Noticed them accommodating groups that arrived after us, moving tables as needed.
Food highlights: Garlic mushrooms 10/10 so much flavour GF spag Bol 10/10 pasta tasted normal and the sauce was delicious GF pizza 10/10 can’t get any better Regular pizza 10/10 I’m told it was yummy
Cons: There’s no way for me to teleport here daily for every meal.
Edit: pizzas are deep pan and very filling, you can get them boxed up to go (we did) for a great breakfast. Perfectly cooked, so idk what the bad reviews here are on about. We saw the food looked super for those around us and others speaking of the great quality whilst going to the toilet. Perfectly round doesn’t mean factory made if anyone’s ever seen a Dominos pizza being made you’ll see a stencil exists. Everything matches the pictures truly accurate and worth going to. Prices align with the area, it’s the strip of clubs so good spot for GF it’s cheap, for non GF it’s average price for above average quality. If you’ve seen this review you know where to eat every night...
Read moreSenhor Frogs in Albufeira is an absolute hidden gem of Italian cuisine, tucked away just off the bustling main strip. Despite its unassuming exterior, this small, cosy restaurant delivers a dining experience that far exceeds expectations.
From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warm smiles and friendly service that made us feel right at home. The staff's attentiveness and genuine hospitality set the tone for a delightful meal.
The meal began with the Garlic Cheese Bread, which was perfectly toasted, with a golden crust and gooey, flavourful cheese. It was the ideal start to the feast ahead. Next up were the Potato Skins with Cheese and Bacon—crispy on the outside, yet soft and tender inside, with just the right amount of smoky bacon and melted cheese. They were a delicious indulgence.
The Stuffed Mushrooms were another highlight. Each mushroom was generously filled with bacon bits and seasoned to perfection, creating a savoury bite that was both rich and satisfying. The depth of flavour in this simple dish was impressive and showcased the kitchen's expertise.
When it came to the main courses, Senhor Frogs continued to impress. The pizza was cooked to perfection, with a deep, crispy crust, ample toppings of cheese, and a perfect balance of flavours. But the star of the night was the Penne Al' Forno, smothered in a delicious homemade meat sauce that was hearty, rich, and brimming with authentic Italian taste. Every bite was a testament to the care and tradition that goes into the cooking here.
Despite the quality and generous portions, the total bill, including several beers and glasses of wine, came to less than €70. This represents incredible value, especially considering the high calibre of the food and service. Senhor Frogs is a must-visit for anyone in Albufeira seeking a memorable, affordable dining experience away from the typical...
Read moreMy wife and I came here for a nice little date. I had the meatlovers and baby frog to drink: the meatlovers was really nice, the crust was crusty but not to the point where it would be a workout to bite through, just nice enough where you can hear the crunch. The baby frog was a really nice drink; my only regret is I finished it too fast! My wife had the tropical chicken pizza and tutti frutti drink. The pizza was very good, soft bottom was really nice, the drink was and I quote "👌" We also had shared between us french fries, cheesy garlic bread, and Portuguese bread: The french fries: altho it was not perfect, it had a suptle hint of salt but no other distinct flavour. The cheesy garlic bread: soft but crusty ends, similar to the Portuguese bread style however it didn't have as much taste as a Portuguese bread, but the garlic was perfect, not overpowering but enough to taste it's there. The Portuguese bread was like a fresh focaccia, the portoguese sausage really tied it together all in all I'd say you have to try it if you're here. The atmosphere; we sat outside, was not loud from the nearby pubs. They had a game from the portoguese league 2 and some not loud music playing, some lights to tie in the room. The tables are plastic, nothing wrong with that. The 5G connection here I would only say is bad so if you're here to be on your phone I'd suggest get offline games haha! The chairs are also plastic but the nice kind, my butt is not aching and I fit perfectly as a big guy. The staff is very friendly and nice, not too much nor too little, just perfect
All in all I'd say it's a must try if you're...
