My husband and I ate at Prazeres on our last evening in Albufeira and wished we had discovered it sooner. We wanted to have authentic Portuguese cuisine for our last dinner, which can be hard to find in town, as many restaurants cater to tourists' palates. Prazeres did not disappoint! Down a more quiet street, just off of the main town square, we had some truly delicious food at a lovely outdoor table. The staff was friendly and welcoming too! I had the seafood paella - HIGHLY recommend! It is so full of shrimp, chopped squid, and mussels, and the rice and vegetables are so flavourful! Not to mention the single portion is huge. My husband had the grilled octopus, which was delicious and well-prepared. Overall - great value for money and a must visit for traditional Portuguese food.

We wanted to find somewhere that was a little more authentic and down to earth than the rest of the meat focused restaurants in the old town. We saw this place and made a reservation with Sophia (her dad is the chef) who was super helpful. This is a family owned and run restaurant in the heart of the old town. Other diners were largely Portuguese locals, so that says something off the bat. The food is fabulous. My fish soup was just the perfect starter and the main (a 2 person dish) was just what I wanted. A tasty mix of pork, shrimp, clams, chorizo and vegetables in a tasty broth. Great food and excellent service. What’s not to like?

I recently dined here, and I have no idea why this place is rated 4.6 stars. The paella was really bad – super bland and needed a ton of salt and pepper to taste halfway decent. For the price we paid, it definitely wasn’t worth it. There are way better places to eat. Plus, the food took forever to come out, which was really frustrating. When it finally did, the steak was a huge letdown – tough and just not good at all. Overall, it was expensive for what it was and wasn’t even that nice. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. Look elsewhere for better food and service.

Omg this place is easily the best restaurant I’ve been to in Albufeira ‼️‼️‼️‼️ Ordered three dishes, Grilled Octopus, seafood Cataplana, Squid ink Padella and all 3 were amazing and super tasty as well as huge portion..!! Especially octopus was very soft and juicy🐙❣️. Owner lady was super friendly, gave us a great recommendation for what to have, thank you😁. We went during the low season, im sure this place would need booking during busy summer season!😉 Highly recommend this authentic and yummy , cozy restaurant when in Albufeira💛‼️

We were directed to Prazeres by another local restauranter in Old Town of Albufeira on our enquiry about authentic Portuguese cuisine. It was a great decision. Located in a beautiful street in the Old Town of Albufeira, the ambience and food were great. The bilingual menu clearly described the dishes, which reflected the local cuisine. All the dishes we ordered, especially seafood Cataplana, were very good. The staff were friendly and the service good. Overall, we loved the dining experience.

Saw the good reviews and wanted traditional Portuguese food so went here early one lunchtime. I had prawns with garlic which was well cooked and tasty and then the grilled octopus which came with veg, potatoes and fried onions. The octopus was cooked well but it was so oily - basically swimming in oil! And not the nice flavoured olive oil that you can dip your bread into, just cooking oil that didn’t taste of anything. Such a shame because the woman running the show was brilliant
