Restaurante Augusto's — Restaurant in Albufeira

Bar does not accept card. Is not made obvious at all and must be one of the only places in Albufeira that does not accept card. There is a small sign in the window but hardly noticeable. Half way through our drinks we realised and went inside to tell the staff. Explained only have Apple Pay so unable to get cash out. Completely understand the drinks needed paying for however staff were rude and unwilling to help. Asked if I could bank transfer the money, was told no, however literally had no other way of paying. Staff suggested I leave my phone with them until I could pay the bill, was not willing to do this considering the bill was 12 euros and my phone is worth over £1000. Had to get taxi back to hotel and leave my 30 weeks pregnant wife in the bar on her own. Understand this is my issue for not being able to pay however feel the bar should have been more understanding and willing to help and should make it more clear that they do not...

One evening we were walking in the old center and after a while we decided to go to this cafe and have a cocktail. There was no information or sign anywhere that they only accept cash and when it was time to pay they said that they do not accept payment by bank card, only cash and we had to go to the ATM and withdraw money with interest to pay for these cocktails. When we paid them in cash and we found out that they cheated us and gave us change for several euros less than the required amount. It was very shameful and low on their part. Avoid! The server is miserable, doesn’t listen to a word you say! Asked for well done egg and got a very runny egg. Says on menu a choice of beans or Tomatoes he just gave us beans! Also had toast, butter, roll and jam on the menu and only got given toast which had way too much butter (they buttered it). We wanted to pay and he’s too busy stood there with a face like thunder!
