This place is an absolute MUST if you enjoy sushi! It is my girlfriend and I’s first time in the Algarve, and after seeing the reviews, we simply had to try it for ourselves.
Firstly, I just want to commend the staff and the owner for creating such a welcoming and enjoyable atmosphere to dine in. Not only were they exceptionally friendly and helpful, they asked us for our opinions on the food, and encouraged us to provide honest feedback - which, of course, we did, and it was nothing but positive!
Moving on to the food: WOW!
For starters, we had the tempura shrimp and the fried chicken dumplings. Incredible. If I had to pick a favourite of the two (which is hard), I would pick the tempura shrimp. The panko breadcrumbed exterior was amazing, and the shrimp tasted as though it had jumped out of the ocean and straight on to my plate. The homemade sweet chilli sauce was great! I love spicy food, so for my tastes, it could have been a little spicier. This is by no means a negative, though. I understand that not everybody enjoys spicy food, and the fresh wasabi most definitely made up for it!
For our main(s) we decided to go for the XL Tiger Platter. For €40, it is unbelievably good value! The staff were so helpful with our order, and allowed us to pick and choose what sushi rolls and sashimi we wanted, based on our personal preference. My favourite was the Crispy Ebi roll! The presentation of the platter was absolutely beautiful, and their attention to detail not only shon through in the food, but also in how it was presented to you at the table. It really made the dinner, feel like an occasion!
If I could give Tiger Street Sushi 10* then I would.
I hope you enjoy it as...

If you’re looking to take a delicious detour from traditional Portuguese cuisine, Tiger Street Sushi in Albufeira is the place to be. From the moment we walked in, we were swept up by the upbeat atmosphere, great music, and the energy of the lively, passionate chefs working their magic behind the counter.
The sushi? Incredibly fresh, with perfect cuts that highlight the quality of every ingredient. Each bite was a testament to the chef’s skill and love for the craft. The prawn tempuras were a standout – light, crispy, and bursting with flavor.
We were lucky enough to be served by Suzi , whose charm and grace made the whole experience even more delightful. She was warm, attentive, and added that personal touch that turns a great late lunch into a memorable one.
And let me not forget – the caipirinha. Hands down, one of the best I’ve ever had. Balanced, refreshing, and just what I needed to complete the afternoon.
Highly recommend Tiger Street Sushi to anyone in Albufeira craving something vibrant, fresh, and unforgettable. This...
Read moreAfter spending the day at the beach, I was craving some sushi. I said to myself "we are right by the beach, in Portugal, the seafood and fish must be top notch". Well, I was in for a big disappointment. We sat down, ordered the big dinner for 2 (around $50) and this massive arrangement of rolls arrived way earlier than expected. Clearly it was pre-made and kept in the fridge. When it arrived, we realized most of the elaborate composition was artificial decoration, a lot of fluff and much less food than it appeared at first. The sashimi were ok, but 90% of the rolls were subpar, discount grocery store worthy, mostly cream cheese and cucumber filled with very little fish. After every bite, I kept saying "ok that was the bad one, the other ones must be good", only to be disappointed. Hands down the worst sushi experience I ever had, I absolutely do not understand how this place has such high ratings.
Despite my disappointment, to end on a positive note, the staff were very kind...
