Dining at this remarkable restaurant on Rua 25 de Abril in Albufeira’s charming downtown was nothing short of exceptional. I had the pleasure of enjoying the golden bream fish, and it was, quite simply, a masterpiece. Delicately seasoned, grilled to perfection, and served with the kind of care and attention that only comes from true passion—it was one of the best meals I’ve had in Portugal.
What sets this place apart, however, is not just the exquisite food—it’s the story, the atmosphere, and above all, the people. This establishment was founded by a Brazilian family and has been lovingly run for over 40 years, carrying forward a tradition of authenticity, resilience, and deep-rooted hospitality. That legacy is alive and well today, thanks in large part to Andriy, whose graciousness and professionalism made me feel like a cherished guest rather than just a customer.
The entire staff was warm, welcoming, and attentive without ever being intrusive. There’s a genuine sense of pride in what they do, and it translates into every dish, every smile, every detail.
If you’re seeking a culinary experience that blends rich heritage, heartfelt service, and unforgettable flavor, this is it. A true gem in Albufeira that deserves to be celebrated—and...
Read moreA disappointment, the only good thing about this restaurant is the location. The food was terrible. My swordfish steak was a finger thick, dry, and flavorless, accompanied by three boiled potatoes. The salad for two people had five cucumber slices and five tomato slices, and the rest was onion. My daughter ordered a sea bass, which arrived with the head burned and completely dry. Supposedly, a restaurant called "Taberna do Pescador" (Fisherman's Tavern), which suggests they know how to grill fish. I didn't see any Portuguese working, only Hindus, Pakistanis, and one Brazilian. Although the fish can be grilled over charcoal, it probably shouldn't come out black. Grilling fish requires skill. I ordered a Seven Up, but I never saw the can. It came in a glass already served with lots of ice, and I don't even know the brand of the drink they served. The bill was about 70 euros for two people, without dessert. I don't recommend it and I don't plan on going back. Too expensive for the low quality. Good for the typist who likes to eat calamari and...
Read moreMe and my friends had dinner here while visiting the old town in Albufeira and it was soooo good!! I had the grilled chicken breast. It was super well marinated and by far the best grilled chicken breast I have ever had! My friends had some sharing menu with seafood and they loved it! I also tasted a little bit from them and it was so good as well. The food is worth the money, and honestly it’s not expensive at all!! The staff was lovely and they paid great attention. They came by several times to see if all was good, and as soon as we finished anything, they would come back to see if we needed more, or they could be off service otherwise. This is something that I have not experienced a lot, when eating out on a holiday abroad. So I was pleasantly surprised with this as well. 10/10. If we will visit albufeira again we will come back for sure! Thank you guys from a taberna do pescador for the great night and the...
