The quality of the food is not good but actual problem is the staff and staff attitude. There was one waiter who was standing outside and he greeted us and make us sit. We told him what we wanted. But he asked us to tell the same thing to another waiter. And we repeated the same order to second waiter. The second waiter made grumpy and angry face while taking our order. He then put dishes in front of us.

When we were eating the first waiter came to us 4 times to ask how is the food. And he put both his hands on our table in over friendly sense while we were eating. I found it disrespect, uncomfortable and too casual attitude. Then he said to us about his colleague waiter (who took our order) "do not mind him. He does not like to do his job". I was baffled by this kind of politics being played out by two colleagues and how he was back biting about his colleague. After a while he again came to us (5th time now) asking how is the food and he starting whistling around us. It was too awkward and unprofessional.

Then the one who took our order (second waiter) came to us from inside and said angrily "do not deal with any other waiter except me. Do not deal with him (first waiter)". There was clearly some politics going on between two colleagues. The first one was doing nothing except whistling and asking how is food multiple times. He did not take order, he did not put dishes. Whereas second one was taking orders but with angry face. Instead of enjoying our food we were too uncomfortable to eat.

When we finished, the first one came abruptly and ONLY THEN he pretended to work and started picking our dishes. But the second one came to us seeing this and we asked him to bring the bill. He (second one) brought the bill and we paid. And he asked specially "No tip??" How are we supposed to tip when you show bad manners, grumpy attitude, asked us to be part of your "office politics" and by making us confused with 2 waiters pulling our legs. I am NEVER coming back. Such an unprofessional behavior. Their staff...

Absolutely dreadful. Definitely one of the worst meals I've ever had in my life, and I've eaten at a Port Authority McDonalds. As I was eating it, I legitimately couldn't tell if I enjoyed seafood or if it was the restaurant. It existentially affected me.

If you look on my profile, you'll see that I've given high praise to many restaurants, and generally I would consider myself a relatively generous customer. Making delicious food at scale is a difficult task and I recognize this, but this is legitimately the first time I've had a bad meal in this country, and I've been here for a week.

The food was overly salty. The soup should've given it away, but once my partner and I received our seafood platter for two, once it rested on our table, we were faced with a decision. Do we continue to eat and keep up appearances? Or do we spare our stomachs and, like a third date that bombed horribly, tell them the cold hard truth? I went with the latter. The waiter was offended. I was upset I was out 84 euros. So on top of the fact it will most likely lead to an extensive toilet session, it was ALSO one of the most expensive meals I've had here.

So let me be more specific: the seafood was boiled to sh**, the entrails of the seafood remained intact, the shells were stuck to the shrimp and prawns, most of the clam shells were empty, and it was lathered in this horrific oil sauce thing(?) right out of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. The only joy I can gather from this experience is writing this review and MAYBE having a definitive answer to: what was the worst restaurant you've ever eaten at? It's great to finally have a semblance of certainty...

My wife, myself, and my sister-in-law visited here at the tail end of our trip across Spain and Portugal at the end of May and we are so glad we found it. The first thing to note is, please don't get thrown off by the decor. While the restaurant is basic looking the food and service are anything but that. We had two waiters who both spoke English and were super helpful with the menu. One even recommended we order less food because he told us the portions were quite big. Which he was right on. I had the cod, my wife the swordfish and my sister-in-law the squid skewers. All were fantastic and no one could finish their helping. And just to repeat, the whole staff was so great. I can't say enough about them. We will...

A Cabrinha is a true local gem — they’ve been serving amazing seafood for over 40 years, and it shows in the quality and consistency. The seafood rice (arroz de marisco) is absolutely delicious, full of fresh flavors and generous portions. They offer a wide variety of daily seafood options — everything from clams and prawns to monkfish and cuttlefish. The staff is friendly and welcoming, and the atmosphere is lively but relaxed. It’s a great spot for a long lunch with family or friends. Just a heads-up: it gets busy, especially on weekends, so arriving early or booking ahead is a good idea. Highly recommended for anyone looking for authentic Portuguese seafood in Almada!
