A Turnaround Experience at Olga Gatti
Having previously left a disappointing review for Olga Gatti, formerly Valdo Gatti, I must admit that my recent visit has completely changed my perspective. The service was impeccable, exceeding my expectations in every aspect. From the moment I stepped in, the staff were attentive, friendly, and went above and beyond to ensure my dining experience was nothing short of excellent.
The improvement in service was remarkable. They were incredibly accommodating, addressing all my needs promptly and with a genuine smile. It was evident that they had made significant efforts to enhance their customer service, and it truly paid off.
I left Olga Gatti feeling not only satisfied but genuinely grateful for the exceptional service I received. It's clear that they have made significant strides in improving their offerings, and I will undoubtedly be returning soon. I would like to extend my sincerest gratitude to the staff for their dedication and commitment to providing a memorable dining experience. Thank you, Olga Gatti, for turning my disappointment into delight.
Disappointing Change in Experience at Valdo Gatti
As a longtime regular at Valdo Gatti, I have always held this pizza restaurant in high regard. The cozy atmosphere, delectable pizzas, and attentive customer service made it a favorite dining spot for me and my family. However, my recent visit left me feeling quite disappointed.
Despite making a reservation several days in advance and specifically mentioning that we would be bringing a stroller and would require adequate space, the restaurant crew seemed to overlook this crucial detail. To my dismay, we were seated right next to a large booking, resulting in constant disturbances as people bumped into the stroller, disturbing our sleeping baby.
While the food quality remained consistent and delicious, the overall dining experience was marred by the lack of consideration for our needs. It was evident that the usual impeccable customer service I had grown accustomed to was no longer a priority. Fortunately, Joana went above and beyond to try to alleviate the situation, but the damage was already done.
To make matters worse, I discovered that some of the staff members who contributed significantly to the exceptional service, namely Julio and Marta, were no longer part of the team. Their absence was palpable and explained the stark decline in the level of service.
This disappointing experience has made me question whether I should continue to patronize Valdo Gatti, let alone organize group dinners there as I have done in the past. It's disheartening to see a once-favorite establishment falter in its commitment to customer satisfaction.
In conclusion, while Valdo Gatti still serves delicious pizzas, the recent decline in customer service and disregard for patrons' needs have tarnished its reputation in my eyes. I hope the management takes heed of these concerns and works towards restoring the exceptional dining experience that once...
Read moreThe atmosphere was nice, there are 1 side couches and decor has some casual chic vibes. They have a selective jazzy/bluesy playlist. Being a small space, sometimes the little noise that might exist somewhat feels like it's noisier than it is. Either waiters were attentive in their own way, both doing a great job with a particular distinction to the moustache man. He stepped it up by being a host and picking up on some indecisions I had on what to choose and pick up on that and give me more detail like flavour of the beer. The piccante pizza was really good. Noticeable sourdough pizza, the toppings were nice and really well cooked pizza. The nduja gave a particular taste to the tomato base, a smokey/bell-peppery with a lot of packed pork meat taste. I'll only leave my personal pointers of what would make, to me the pizza better: shredded, well-distributed basil so that every bite has a distinct freshness. without the nduja, the tomato sauce wasn't a show-stealer. I was able to try it in a margherita from a friend and I would say it could need some more love. this one is almost impossible without proper gluten development, although the crust and base were yummy, the dough could be puffier, bouncier. With all that said, the pizza was really, really good. I need to try other pizzas and see if the standards are as high as...
Read moreDefinitely a great addition to cacilhas, but I honestly hoped for more, I guess that is the problem when we set expectations as high as I did. I went for the main selling point, the pizza. While the pizza is good, the dough and cooking were spot on, the toppings were not to my liking. They were not bad, but if I am paying 15 for an Italian pizza I will be picky. For me, the tomato sauce was too heavy and thick, almost like all they did was dropping passata directly onto the pizza, I mean, if you worry about getting a great cornicione couldnt you hand smash a couple of pelati and season them with basil salt and oil?
I tried the salsiccia e zucca and the Al funghi trufato pizzas besides the Margherita. Zucca suffered from a pumpkin base that is to thick and sweet which kind of overwhelms and the funghi trufato has a crema de trufa that is a bit too much on the heavy cream side and not much of the truffle aroma was coming through.
These are not huge deal breakers obviously, but rather something that can be worked on to make an even better pizza. Place is great, staff was very polite and professional so overall a good experience and...
