What a disappointment. This was our second time dining at this restaurant. We had an amazing experience back in September 2024, which is why we decided to come back in April 2025 for a very special occasion : our anniversary. Unfortunately, this visit fell far short of expectations.
The selection of starters was much more limited than during our first visit. Back then, we were served over eight small, varied dishes that made for a generous and flavorful introduction to the meal. This time, we received barely four (including one with a handful of olives), far less interesting, and to make matters worse, we were charged for the bread, which had been included the first time. It felt particularly off-putting to be asked to pay for something so basic, especially when the starters included spreads clearly meant to be eaten with it!! I mean, how are we supposed to enjoy spreads without bread? It doesn’t make any sense.
At one point, the waiter touched and moved the raw meat with his fingers while showing us the difference between two cuts of beef. Not exactly what you want to see in terms of hygiene...
Later, when we ordered dessert, we waited more than half an hour before realizing that our order had simply been forgotten. While mistakes can happen, it was yet another element contributing to an increasingly frustrating experience.
To top it all off, when the bill came, we noticed (just like during our first visit) that the discount from our reservation through The Fork had not been applied to the dessert. Once we pointed it out, the server did apologize and corrected the bill, but considering this happened on both of our visits, it gives the impression that it might be a recurring issue rather than a one-off oversight. Adding to the feeling of being nickel-and-dimed, we also discovered that the small bottle of still water, something quite standard, was charged at €6, which felt excessive. Also, during our meal we asked for a bit more rice (as the portion for two people was very small), which was also charged...
All in all, we left very disappointed. The quantity wasn’t the same, the quality had clearly dropped, and the value for money simply isn’t there anymore. It was our second and...
Read moreThe fish was good and fresh. The rice was great too. The service by Joa was excellent. Before the main dishes came, he brought us lots of side dishes which were good too. Another thing was the fries. It was definitely different from SG. According to the waiter, it is not frozen and freshly fried. It was quite thinly sliced too. If you happen to be around, just drop by and...
