Only a few steps away from Braga Cathedral (Se de Braga) and the Arco da Porta Nova is this wonderful Old City Guest House. We had a large group who stayed in the room downstairs and the room with a balcony upstairs. The room with a balcony upstairs is incredible. Highly recommend this room as it is a standout. The dining area and kitchen is great. Breakfast fantastic. The shared living area is amazing. The service from both Carla and Ines also incredible. Carla and Ines organised for our large amount of laundry to be washed, pressed and folded at an amazingly affordable price. Let us print our E-Tictets using their computer system. Fantastic Diana's Restaurant across the road and also Taberna do Félix down the road near the Arco da Porta Nova. Short walking distance to the heart of Braga, Cafe Vianna and A Brasileira. Not to mention close to the shops where you can buy brilliantly crafted and authentic Portuguese table cloths etc. Also close to bus route to Bom Jesus do Monte. I can't recommend highly enough. Loved our stay at Old City Guest...
Read moreOn arriving we received a warm welcome from the owner Inez and her colleague. We stayed 3 nights and and felt we had made the perfect choice. The Old City Guest House is located 2 minutes walk from the cathedral and 5 or 6 minutes to the bustop (#2) for the Bom Jesus. Our room was extremely comfortable and quiet, with all the usual facilities which worked well (e.g. hot water). Breakfast was generous and of good quality. And the wifi worked well!||There is a friendly atmosphere .about the place which has been in the same family for many years. Being so close to the centre there are numerous restaurants of various levels within easy walking distance. Overall, for such a place we thought the price was extremely reasonable.||We did not have a car so cannot...
Read moreI came to Braga to eliminate it as a place to live but instead fell in love with the town. Part of the ease of fitting in to the flow was because of the staff at Old City. They made me feel welcome and answered any cultural questions I had. While my needs were a little different than the average traveler the B&B is excellent in its own right. Portuguese and English freely spoken. Bed shower space and breakfast all great :) One reserved parking space if you rent a car but not necessary. Decent walk from train station but not too far and could easily be reached by cab or bus as well. Centrally located to great...
