local café — Restaurant in Caldas da Rainha

This area of Portugal is known for many things, but perhaps not coffee. If you are looking for a good coffee spot this is really the best in my opinion. Very nice spot for lunch or brunch, or even just a quick stop for a glass of amazing Portuguese wine. I like to rate coffee so my rating isn't including the food. Overall coffee is very solid. Definitely best in the area. Flat white was a perfect temperature, decent texture, and good finish. Would love to see them play around with other milks as I felt like mine was quite strong and didn't balance quite as nice as the espresso. All in all, will visit again in the future. We travelled the world trying different food and this restaurant is one of our favourite in Portugal.

My wife ordered the brunch platter* with the option of huevos rancheros eggs and I order the salmon bagle, the food was exceptionally good and made to perfection.

The quality of meat, the amount of dressing, the temperature of food, the moisture in the bread and the fantastic taste - everything was perfect!

*Please note the brunch platter is only available on weekends and their specials such as the (Huevos Rancheros Egg)...

I have had just about every coffee in a 40km radius of Caldas and this is by far the best. The staff is friendly, the food is always top notch. They also have a wonderfully curated set of beers, wines, and cheeses. They sell their coffee beans as well so you can enjoy a local coffee at home.
