Farah’s Tandoori is a restaurant we dined at multiple times during our stay in Carcavelos, on the outskirts of Lisbon. The décor is colourful and inviting, to match the warm welcome we got from the owners and staff. Most importantly, the food is delicious. The menu includes classic dishes, which are executed well, and successful twists on the classics. Everything is full of flavour, and spice levels can often be adjusted to preferences, depending on the dish. As an enthusiastic cook myself, I can appreciate the challenge of making something like prawn samosas and avoiding a soggy result. The ones at Farah’s were perfectly crispy and my top pick for a starter on their menu. The most memorable dish I had there was a soft crab and shrimp curry, in a thick coconut-based curry sauce. That meal was one of the highlights of my trip to Portugal and I was blown away by the flavours and textures. It was an experience to remember. Being of South Asian heritage myself, I have grown up with Indian food. This restaurant’s food and flavours really stand out. If you are in Lisbon or Carcavelos, do yourself a...
Read moreSome guy named Michael wrote down a very weird comment about his experience at Farah's Tandoori. Either that or the google translation was not very successful...I was sitting at the adjoining table and I can asure you that the staff did not pour any bucket of sand over the clients (as yone would expect...). Someone from the floor above threw some sand from the balcony (inadvertedly so, of course), but everyone tried to solve the incident quickly and apologetically. Apparently, after some cleaning all seemed well and their food was brought to the table (deliciously-looking as always). All of a sudden this Michael character started throwing papers around, banging on the pots and plates anouncing that he was not going to eat «that» food (which they were obviously expected to pay). I for one told him that everyone was feeling uncomfortable with his tantrum and he finally dashed away leaving the remaining party behind ashamed and to pay the bill. Apart form this ludricous event at Farah's Tandoori everything was top notch as always! Cheers for your...
Read moreBe AWARE!! ordering from these guys from bolt or Uber eats with the “promo buy one get one free” is a scam. It’s a scam. They have a list of dishes you can get for free but they don’t specify that you need to choose only that dish. Imagine you buy chicken korma and you like it super spicy but your partner doesn’t. The second one they give you is exactly the same. So you’re stuck w 2 super spicy dish. If you complain l, the owner say I don’t care. They charge 19 euros per dish which is basically the cost of two dishes anywhere else if you order separately but they want to make you believe it’s great value. We were 4 people and paid 100 euros for our meals and they delivered us 8 dishes. 🤦🏻♀️🤣 Absolutely terrible. When asked the owner to not give us the second dishes instead refund 1 dish, he aaid no! I don’t care you ordered. Take it up w bolt. No wonder the place is totally empty on a...
