Tasty, relaxed, friendly place! The waitress (as well as the other waiter) were very nice, helpful and professional. We asked for some wine recommendations and she recommended us some of the more affordable ones first and then also some on the pricier side, which made us feel really comfortable having her start with the affordable ones first. We chose a red wine of her choices and were really happy with it, it was a perfect addition to our food of choice. We ordered duck in vinegar sauce (which was my highlight!) and 2 oxtail pies as starters (unfortunately not on the pictures, we were just too hungry). Then we had the sirloin steak with peppercorn sauce anf the sirloin steak pereira style (in red wine sauce and fried egg on top). Both were made exactly to our liking (one medium-well and one medium-rare), the sauce a little bit more on the sweeter side, which was the perfect balance to the meat and wine. The fries were freshly selfmade and also a hit! For dessert we had their caramalized almond tarte (to die for!!) and Santini's chocolate ice cream. The waitress clarified that they get the ice cream from a popular local ice cream shop, which is why they serve it in its own packaging, so we would not be surprised. I found this really thoughtful as well. The service was all in all perfect. The food was amazing. We went home really happy, full, and a...
Read moreWe went primarily based on recommendation of our VRBO hostess. On-line reservation was easy; 7pm, pretty much only patrons at this early hour (for PT). Service was excellent, waitress was very attentive and spoke English well. She made recommendations (at our request), and definitely wasn't pushy about inflating the check. We had their Steak Pereira (with a Madeira wine sauce) and the Cod with Rice dish. Both came with a fried egg on top, and the steak came with fries. The steak was tasty although it didn't seem to be grilled at all (which would be my preference); fries were OK. The cod dish was good and generously sized, although it was 'soupier' than I expected and could have used more seasonings (and there was no salt/pepper on the tables). We wound up taking some of that home. Again based on a couple recommendations, we had the Doce da Casa, a creamy dessert with tons of cinnamon and topped with almond shavings. We never had anything like that, and highly recommend it (if you love cinnamon). Pricing was reasonable, esp. for Cascais. The restaurant was just a bit off of the beaten path, not far from the busy tourist area. Decor was very nice and contemporary. We were a bit disappointed that even though it was pleasantly cool outside, the interior was kind of stuffy and no outdoor dining options...
Read moreOk brunch well prepared overall. We paid 25 euro per head which is high for Portugal. The downside was the service. The guy who took our order was very attentive unfortunately the rest of the staff were uninterested and flaky, necessitating several attempts to bring extra carrot sticks for hummus (they had none) wipe the wet table before we sat and rework the way too spicy Virgin Mary they served us (they didn’t). Dishes did not arrive at the same time. Very popular place but some of the staff clearly need training or firing. Won’t...
