Sal & Pimenta — Restaurant in Cascais

The dinner buffet at Hotel Londres is a serious waste of money. When I got to the hostess stand, the lady asked for my room number. I realized after her re-asking and shuffling through paper that she thought I had pre-paid. I picked a table near the window, noting that half the tables, including mine, hadn't been set for some reason prior to opening. I had brought a glass of vinho verde from the bar with me and someone stopped by to offer me more wine. I said "verde," and was corrected and told that they call white wine "branco" in Portugal. Um, unless it's vinho verde. The buffet food was crap. The only fish was mackeral (?) 1x3" strips complete with many bones. None of the serving dishes were labelled with contents. The roasted potatoes were cold. The only thing I'll give them is that they had salad dressing beyond oil and vinegar, a rare find in Europe. When I went to pay I was told that you can't charge it to your room and when I gave the lady a card, she didn't know how to use the card reader.
