Walking from the University of Coimbra, I stumbled upon this absolute gem of a restaurant. The moment I looked through the doors and saw the views and of course looking at the menu, I knew I wanted to dine here. I highly recommend making reservations. Because we did not have reservations, the staff was kind enough to book us on for a time. We spent the first 45 minutes on the first floor which is their bar. The views are gorgeous and stunning. The restaurant is on the upper floor and the views are impeccable. Would highly recommend dining here at sunset. Staff was so kind, welcoming and accommodating. They were able to help with our dietary restrictions. The ambiance, the furniture, the entire vibe of this place is EXCELLENT!! Ordered the pistachio burrata linguine, the codfish with chickpea puree and kale, corn bread and arancini smoked salmon mayo bites. The bread came with delicious butter, garlic butter and a paprika spiced butter. So unique. The food presentation was on point. Everything was delicious and exceeded expectations. For dessert we had the brownie and their mushroom sponge cake and serra cheese with white chocolate and pumpkin. Everything was great!!! Anyone coming to Coimbra must dine here.

**Review for Passaporte Restaurant, Coimbra** My evening at Passaporte Restaurant in Coimbra was nothing short of incredible. From start to finish, the experience was top-notch. I began with the squid starter, while my wife opted for the risotto spheres. Both dishes were simply fantastic—full of flavour and beautifully presented. For the main course, we shared the Chateaubriand. The meat was cooked to absolute perfection, tender and juicy. The sides were equally impressive, with the rice standing out as a particular highlight. Every element of the dish was thoughtfully prepared and delicious. To finish, I had the Mille-feuille, while my wife indulged in a rich chocolate brownie. Both desserts were excellent and the perfect way to end the meal. Throughout the evening, we were looked after by Christina, whose service was impeccable. She was attentive, knowledgeable, and provided insightful recommendations about both the menu and the city. Her professionalism and warm demeanour added to the overall experience. Passaporte offers not only amazing food but also a wonderful atmosphere. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Coimbra. A truly unforgettable meal in an extraordinary setting!

I recently visited Pasaporte in Coimbra, Portugal, and I must say the experience was extremely disappointing. The staff was incredibly rude and disrespectful. My friend ordered a drink, and as soon as it was placed on the table, a fly flew right into it. We politely asked if they could make a new one since the fly had just landed in the drink. The server immediately responded in a rude manner, asking, "What happens if another fly lands in another drink? Do we have to keep making new ones?" We thought she was joking because the drink was untouched, and my friend hadn’t even taken a sip. I went to speak with the bartender and asked for the manager. He told me the manager would be there at 7:30 pm. We waited, but the manager never showed up. When we were leaving, I asked again, and the bartender sarcastically said, "I don't think the manager is coming." My point with this review is that if you're spending your money in a tourist spot in a small town like Coimbra, where prices are higher compared to other places, you deserve respect and appreciation. This is why I do NOT recommend this place at all.

Before traveling to Portugal from Canada, my girlfriend and I did a lot of research of top places to go for food and/or cocktails. Passporte was highly recommended across google, Tiktok and Instagram. We were both extremely excited about the views, atmosphere and to enjoy a few cocktails. However, upon our arrival, it became clear how rude all of the front staff were. From the moment we walked in, we felt incredibly judged (we were well put together for a cocktail bar), and were met with extreme hostility. My girlfriend asked if we could be sat outside (as we had made a reso) and the hostess said yes after speaking into her mic. When we got to the top floor, she said something to her colleague in Portuguese and they both laughed and snickered at us. When we let them know that we were only looking for cocktails, they told us that we had to go back down to the bar, which was no problem for us. We weren’t sure if they wanted us to walk down immediately or not, but when we didn’t immediately get up, she said rudely “now, meet my colleague at the bottom of the stairs”. When we got to the bottom of the stairs, it was another extremely rude engagement between us and what appeared to be a bartender. Our server was nice however and drinks were good, and the view was amazing. During our drinks, 2 of the servers/workers were talking between themselves and looking at us and laughing. When leaving the bar (we only wanted to stay for one drink after that), the first hostess girl stared us up and down and gave us dirty looks upon leaving. We are quite friendly Canadians, and used to going out to nice cocktail bars - however, this was truly the worst experience we have ever had. I would not recommend...

A tourist trap. A really good place wouldn’t do what they did - we arrived, were 2 people, decided to sit in a table in the shade, and the initial employee who served us told us once the sun was a bit lower we could move to a table in the sun. An hour later we asked to move to one of the various tables that were empty in the sun, to which they told us “those tables are only for 4 people, sorry, there are no 2 people tables available”. We offered to leave if they needed the table, reinforced the idea that they had really several tables empty and that it didn’t make sense, to which they only replied “rules are rules”. I’ll never recommend this place again due to the poor service - not professional at all.

I asked the employees if they could speak with the management and they did, management / the manager didn’t care and never even came to talk to us.

Additionally, we asked for 2 cheese arancini, and we got 2 shrimp arancini. We only noticed while biting it because these were arancinis and wasn’t unfortunate because we don’t have any problem with shrimps, but if one of us were allergic it could be very serious.

I’m from Coimbra, will not recommend this place again, I am even ashamed of having brought my friend there that day. You can have the exact same view of the city outside of the...
