This is a very popular pastry shop in Coimbra. There are many people inside. It was unusual that there are no prices for the products, but it’s not higher than in other cafes. You can buy things to go and sit down in the cafe itself. It was rather crowded when we were there. The things that we tried were ok, but not really top best (in my opinion- as I expected more from this place for sure), so I am giving not the highest mark.

La cafetería pastelería se ve bonita y con gran variedad de bollería y pastelería. Animados por las opiniones de otros usuarios de Google nos decidimos a entrar ya que la terraza estaba llena de gente y no había dónde sentarse. Pedimos un pastel y un café por persona (sólo éramos dos), te dan una tarjeta con un número que es la que utiliza el camarero para localizarte y tratarte el pedido, luego para pagar tienes que acercarte con esa tarjeta a la barra (donde un ingente número de personas hace cola para comprar repostería y te mira mal al pensar que te está colando..). Después de un tiempo de espera considerable (algo normal en la zona) nos trajeron los dos pasteles en el mismo plato, uno de ellos con un pelo negro pegado.. esperé largo rato a ver aparecer al camarero pero como no quería esperar otros 15 minutos me acerqué de donde salían los pedidos (cocina-barra) y vi al camarero venga a tocarse y retocarse el pelo.. lo que explicó lo que encontré en mi bollo. Vi que tiraban mi bollo y como una cocinera iba por la barra del bar jugando con el otro pastelito. Así pasó, que cuando los pasteles llegaron a la mesa el plato estaba lleno de azúcar glass. Como había mucha gente haciendo cola para comprar, la puerta permanecía constantemente abierta, lo que facilitaba el acceso a las palomas. Verdaderamente nos decepcionó bastante después de leer las críticas.

Beautiful decor. Busy. Service is decent given the business. Tried the three best of Coimbra. The Santa Clara pastries were a little disappointing, very light but filling lacked flavour. The Tentúgal pastry had a nice cracking phyllo however the filling was rather inferior for the region. The nata was perfection with no issues. Of the three the Nata I feel ranks with the best in the area.

Pastry is good. Sandwiches are not good (cold and the type of "already ready in supermarkets). The system to order and pay is weird. We stood in the line waiting a lot because there were so many people and then, all of the sudden they said that we need to seat down and wait for the weiter to come. Line dissappeared. Then we got serviced very quick and the weiter was very nice.

Very underwhelming! We were so looking forward to trying their Pastel de Santaclara as we had one in another place yesterday. Searched up the best place for this dessert and it led us to this pastelaria. So, so disappointed. The pastry was thin but the filling was very little and bland in taste. The coffees were lukewarm and we won’t be back anytime soon.
