We were in Coimbra for an international conference and stopped into Piano Negro for some vegan/dairy-free ice cream. The owners were so nice and went out of their way to accommodate our food sensitivities and allergies. The following day, they even specially made us delicious arepas which were allergen-free and vegan, without any cross-contact. They also carefully prepared fresh fruit and veggies so that we had a variety of safe food to eat. The restaurant is also tastefully decorated and feels welcoming. The area is absolutely amazing. I really wish we lived nearby but I'm happy for other travellers and locals who have the chance to visit this special...

What a gem! This place has hands down the best brunch in Coimbra downtown. The couple who runs it are absolutely lovely - so warm and welcoming, you feel like you're eating at a friend's house.

The all-you-can-eat breakfast is incredible - everything is homemade with such care and attention. The variety is impressive and you eat until you are full. You can tell they put real love into their cooking. Fresh, delicious, and authentically prepared portuguese food.
