Milho's Bakery — Restaurant in Funchal

Cute sidewalk cafe that looks like it should be phenomenal. We ordered cappuccinos, a croissant, and a bun with sugar sprinkles. All we’re ok. The cappuccinos were weak and didn’t have any foam with a lot of milk. To be fair, we ordered large cappuccinos, which should come with an extra shot of espresso.

The croissant was dense and doughy. It may not be fair to compare them to French croissants that are flaky, crispy and airy, but that is our gold standard.

On the upside, the atmosphere is lovely, (except for the many smokers), but that isn’t factored...

Worst service I’ve been presented with in a while!!! They forgot our order and when we reminded them they brought the wrong order.

We asked for a pear juice and they bought us a apple juice, we told them this was the wrong order they replied with “we don’t have pear do we got you apple”. They NEVER asked if we wanted apple instead, just assumed that was ok.

We also asked for a two simple sandwiches and were presented with two dry and sad grilled cheese with ham. When we complained once more no apology was made.

After all that we are charged 9€!!...
