On Water Academy - Madeira — Restaurant in Funchal

Came here twice, first day, it wasn't too full... There was good enough service and all was ok. Bad part was when I overheard staff calling to costumers "paneleiros" which means gay in Portuguese, didn't sound nice. Second time, it was more full so I decided to ask at the bar. Asked for two beers which were served then asked for 2 ice creams and the employee attitude was disgusting trying to make me feel bad because he still had "30 other people to serve". I didn't make a scene neither asked for the red book, however I said he had served me the beers so why would I need to wait? He then gave me the two tiniest ice creams ever. I came here because they were lactose free and my daughter is lactose intolerant. I would like to share the review as staff obviously needs to improve...

Very good place for quick beer and snack. Asian guy very friendly, helpful, good small talk creating nice atmosphere Unfortunately there was second guy with italian mustache constantly complaining, ruining the vibe of the place. Nice location, but very poor service. While I was at the bar waiting to place my order, I saw one of the staff members accidentally spill a large amount of water from a very dirty dog bowl into the ice bucket used for making drinks. Even though he noticed that I saw what happened, he continued using the same ice without addressing the situation. That was enough for me—I left, as I definitely didn’t want a drink made...
