Cantinho do Fadista — Restaurant in Guimarães

I had perhaps the best meal I've ever had in my life at this restaurant. We left the meal up to Filippe, the owner. We were hesitant about having appetizers, but Filippe said they were fresh and we should order. As I wrote earlier, follow Filippe's recommendations. He selected the appetizers, and they were amazing. The restaurant hasn't a menu. He tells you what he has available for the day. The main dish was a sea bass, salad, and french fries. Even the fries were so good. Everything was so good. Both my sister and I thought it was the best meal we could remember. Filippe was such a great host and came by to spend time with us. This humble beautiful restaurant was amazing. Having walked in after searching for a place to eat, and being turned down by another tasca... The owner welcomed us humbly. Offering us tastings of traditional dishes from the area... Wow how delicious.

This place is highly recommended and a highlight of our trip in the north of Portugal.
